The hand with the palm turned inward and all the fingers extended downward touching the singhasana (pedestal supported by a lion) The gesture of touching the earth or calling the earth to witness commemorating Buddha's victory over temptation by the demon Mara. A large porcelain barbed bowl decorated with flowers, birds, fingered citrons, bamboo and other motifs with famille rose enamel and gilt in Imary style. 18th century, Kangxi period. Condition: glaze scratches, enamel and gilt losings; rim glaze bursts as commonly seen on Kangxi wares, plus a few small glaze chips on the rim and one very short kiln crack. A well potted rouleau vase finely decorated with famille verte enamel, depicting Zhongkui gathering with his younger sister in a garden, not far from them under a sycamore tree, a goblin is taking care of Zhongkui's nephew. Late 19th century, Guangxu period. The vase is in excellent condition, the only flaw is some old chips inside the foot rim. Height: 43 cm.

Tibetan hand-woven seat cover, once would have used by a Buddhist priest. The region of Ningxia supplied the Buddhist monasteries of western China and Tibet with these rugs. The textile with central four prong vajra, with vajra corner guards and a simple guard band border. Hand-woven wool with cotton.

Chinese late Qing dynasty red silk temple hanging or altar frontispiece embroidered in metallic-couched and polychrome silk threads. A horizontal panel across the top holds seven figures standing among foliage. The lower section is embroidered with two phoenix birds among leafy flowers. The red silk panels are bordered in dark blue ground with metallic shou (longevity) symbols alternating with flowers. The borders are edged in black silk. Late 19th century...

Very unusual 19th century square manju netsuke made out of a slab of aventurine glass with silver fitting on the back in a shape of a samurai family crest with paulownia flowers and leaves, swinging silver loop for hanging. Superbly beautiful and rare material, absolutely stunningly sparkling in direct sunlight, does not photograph well. Three tiny chips along the edges on the front and a couple on the back, do not take away from the piece. Beautiful patina, very pleasant to hold...
