A beautiful Japanese cloisonne enamel tray by Namikawa Sosuke. The scene is a bird perched on a flowering branch. The grayish background changes in tone from the top to bottom. This is a nice Japanese cloisonné made with a fierce 3-claws flaming dragon circling around its tail within a dark blue background...

This late 19th century Japanese hexagon cloisonn¨¦ vase is 7 ½ inches tall and 3 ¾ inches wide. It has various phoenix cartouches on a dark blue background. There is a small chip close to the bottom quarter.

An interesting saddle bag possibly made from the hide of an ibex or mule like animal. The bag retains that rugged look used by the merchants who travelled across the Himalayas during the spring to Tibet and back bring goods from India to the Tibetan plateau. This late 19th or early 20th century Japanese cloisonné vase is 11 3/4 inches high and 4 1/2 inches on the widest part. It depicts a rooster and hen in a bamboo grove. It is in excellent condition.

Hanging from the belt on a leather strap, the stylized milking hook was the essential item of ornamentation for any Tibetan woman properly dressed for a festival. Surrounding the hook surface is a heavy etched silver band. The bronze/brass hook has is etched with markings and is inset with 5 large beads, set in silver bezels. The original leather strap shows lots of wear.

These ceremonial hooks have become hard to obtain...

This is an extremely fine Japanese Cloisonne vase with gold wire decorations.It measures just 3 1/2 inches tall so it is much finer and more exquisite in person. It is not signed. The fine workmanship on this piece was most likely done by Hayashi Kodenji as only an elite few could have ever created such a piece. The enamel colors and character of the bird also match Hayashi's work. Condition is excellent.

A 7.5" mirror pair of silver wired Inaba vases, unsigned. Each blue black chrome rimmed vase is decorated with a scene of red crowned cranes at the seaside.

Condition: There is a bruise to the back of one vase at the shoulder, no other chips, hairlines or repairs.

A finely decorated cloisonne censer with motif of flowers of the four seasons combined with flowers, scrolling vines, and dragon and phoenixes set in a design often seen in traditional bronze censers. This lovely antique bell is a traditional Ghanta, which is a Tibetan Buddhist ritual bell, sometimes called Dril, bu,and/or singing bell. Just over 6 inches tall, this Ghana is paired with the Dorje at the top of the handle, and the surface is decorated with an abundance of Tibetan symbols. This bell has the original clapper, has a lovely tone and beautiful patina. Bell is 6.5 inches (16.5 CM) tall

The Ghanta represents feminine power, wisdom, receptiveness, and the voice of the Buddha.

Statue of Kubera, the God of Wealth and Prosperity, wearing diadem and formal attire, sitting on a dais. The god holds the Buddhist umbrella in his right hand, while he holds the mongoose that spits the jewels in his left hand. The statue is made of gilt copper, with a nice green and reddish patina in the recesses. Tibet, 18th century. Height: 4 7/8" (12,3 cm). Very good condition.

Beautiful antique Tibetan gilt bronze and copper repouse statue of the bodhisatva Avalokeieshvara, modeled with multiple heads protruding from the top of head, and countless arms in a circular nimbus edged with flames, holding prayer beads, a lotus, a conch shell and other attributes, beautifully modeled features, 19th century. Size: 18 1/2" high x 14" wide x 5" deep.

A storehouse (kura) lantern(andon) from late 19th century Japan, made of wooden base, and metal wire body, and hanging hook. Interior paper is a later addition. I have found a long Japanese medicine bottle that fits perfectly inside the lantern, making it suitable for flower arranging. H.17cm(6.7") x Dia.8cm(3").

Statue of Buddha Amitabha (or "Amitayus"), wearing diadem and sitting cross-legged on a double lotus throne. Amitabha holds a vase containing the nectar of immortality on his lap. Gilt bronze, the face itself is cold-gilt. Tibet, 18th century. Height: 6 1/4" (16 cm). Gilding partly eroded, otherwise very good condition.

A wonderful Tibetan lama statue, made of gilt repoussé copper, dating from the 18th or 19th century. The figure still has it's original ornaments hanging from the shoulders. H. 30 cm W. 21 cm. Condition: expected age wear to the gilding, a few cracks in the copper. The ornament (probably a bottle) in the lama's lower hand is missing. Very good condition considering the age.
