A rare large pottery figure of Thot as a Baboon Late-Ptolemaic period, 5th.-1st. century BC.
A mold-made votive figure of the god Thot, depicted here seated as a Baboon holding a round object and very detailed with remnants of pigments.
Interesting, large figures like this are usuaully only encountered in faiance or stone so a scarce late representation in terracotta.

This is a lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, more than 3,000 years old, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 1/2” long (13 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Glyphs appear to include a Red Crown. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.
A wonderful style large black serpentine cylinder seal, showing a mounted King hunting a Bull in full freight, a bird in the top and symbols of the Sun and Moon, Middle-assyrian, 14th - 11th century BC.
The scene is quite rare with the detailed bearded mounted king.
Height: 35 mm. tall. and with a diameter of 11 mm.
Condition: Very fine, extremely fine details, but with a repaired hairline crack through the middle (professionally done)...

This Classic Mayan mother-of-pearl figurine is 1 1/8" wide. It was found by Dr. Allen Heflin. Although I could not capture it in photos, it is nicely opalescent. It would make a very unusual jewelry finding. It is C300-900AD.
This seated figurine is dressed in Chieftain regalia and is wearing a fierce mask of a demon. It is carved from antler and has some glued repairs, but no restoration. It is from the Chimu, Peru culture, C950AD. See "The Gold of Peru", page 242 for similar carvings. It is 2" long by 1" wide and stands alone for display. It is from a Dutch private collection. Comes with certificate of authenticity.

This Mayan bone carving is unique in that it has a Mayan glyph carved on the back which translates to "Old God". It is 2 1/4" long. The carving is very well done and has extremely rare iconography. As rare as it gets. A museum quality piece. Purchased from Keith Finello.
A seated figure of an emaciated male holding a tube above a small pot. The upper tip of the tube (or staff) is missing, an ancient loss. A minor chip to the end of the nose. Extensive deposits, as can be seen in the photos. The figure measures 9" in height. An expressive,authentic figure.
Five dynaties yue "MISE" bowl with lotus pattern outside wall. 17,8cm diameter. Bowl has three short hairlines and views small chipped at the rim. No restorations.
A very rare Five dynasties celadon yue ware large bowl with cerved birds motif, rounded side with deep center and glazed base, bowl covered with yue green celadon glaze, decorated with carved birds motif, good condition with faint short hairline on the rim, no chip no restoration, high ping sound with finger tip, size: 17 cm diameter.
A well-modeled figure measuring 8 inches in height. The figure is shown kneeling, with a cape or cloak draped over the left arm, the right hand resting on a knee. A twisted turban sits on the figures head, and prominent "ear-flares" are present. Intact, with losses and abrasions to the surface.
Tularosa Dog Head Olla, Black On White, Ca. 1175 to 1300 ad. This is a beautiful piece that is not broken but does have a pressure crack restored on bottom, no other restoration or repaint. Korea, Unified Silla Period, 8th to 10th century, an old natural greenish dark black patina.
It is a cast solid, standing on a lotus pedestal base and cast with drapery falling in u-shaped folds
from the neck to the ankles, back cast of the figure open including its head
with an old natural patina.
