Chinese Jin Dynasty Painted Pottery Filial Piety Tile (AD 1115 - 1234)

This interesting and attractive pottery tile was made during the Jin Dynasty (AD 1115 - 1234) and most likely comes from Shanxi province. The tile is made from quite a high-fired grey pottery that has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments. This tile depicts a scene from one of the twenty-four paragons of filial piety. A lovely sharp cylinder seal in a rare material of quartz for this period, Uruk-Jemdet Nasr, c. 3300-3000 BC.

Sharp impression and attractive.

Size: 14 mm. tall and 11 mm. wide.

Condition: Extremely fine for the type, with minor calcification at one side.

A Yung Ming longquan celadon large carved dish, round barbed rim with deep center and glazed base with ring for firing, dish decorated with carved flower motif at inner wall, center with cross motif, dish covered with deep green glaze.
Dish is in good condition with one faint hairline at the rim, no chip no crack no restoration, slightly wrap, good ping sound with finger tip.
Size: 30 cm diameter.

A scarce and attractive seal dating to the stoneage!

A scarce very early and substantial stamp seal from the Pre-/early Halaf period of Western Mesopotamia c. 6th. mill. BC.

Finely carved in a black stone with a medium tall handle, and carved with a fine grit pattern in the base.

Size: 28 mm x 20 mm. and 19 mm. tall.

Condition: Nice VF or better! Light wear to base-

Miniature statue of Buddha Gautama, in formal attire, wearing diadem, a lotus flower beside each shoulder, his hands in "dharmacakra mudra", sitting cross-legged on a lotus throne. Bronze, with fine reddish-green patina. Tibet, 17th century, maybe earlier. Height: 4.9 cm. Erosion due to great age, otherwise very good condition...

I am not familiar with Japanese porcelain, and so I cannot date this nice piece, but with a magnifying glass it it possible, to see all all the fine scratches on the surface of the dish, which is a sign, that this dish is old. Very nice condition. D : 14,9 cm.

This late 19th century Chinese bamboo brush holder (Bitong) is 12 inches tall and 5 inches at its widest part. It was carved in high relief and lacquered. The top part of the cylinder presents the story of the seven immortals of the bamboo grove. Four immortals are looking at a scroll picture; two are playing ¡°Go¡± and one is watching them play. The bottom half of the cylinder depicts five elders gathering in a garden surrounded by pine trees...

Very large Burmese hammered repousse copper-brass-bronze alloy bowl, with traces of silver, decorated with 4 relief panels depicting rice farming scenes and stylized scroll foliage.
