Large Chinese Qing dynasty oval form lidded jar densely decorated on the front in underglaze blue on a faintly celadon tinted white ground with a phoenix bird among peonies. Three blue clouds are on the lid. The base and interior are glazed while the foot is unglazed. Late 19th century. 12 1/2" high. Very good overall condition. The unglazed mouth rim has tiny imperfections. There are a few glaze losses to the tip and side of the finial that might be from the original production...

Chinese Tang Dynasty small round box made of silver and gold. Repouse designs of floret surrounded by tiny flowers. The design on the top side of the box is smaller and more intricate while the bottom of the box has a similar floret but simpler. An eastern mediterranean core – formed glass amphoriskos

Core-formed opaque blue Amphoriskos with yellow and white trail wound spirally around rim and neck, under the shoulder both trails are combed into a feather pattern. The knob at the bottom and the handles are made of greenish clear glass.

Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Qingbai Glazed Porcelain Covered Jar

This attractive small covered jar was made during the 13th / 14th Century (Song / Yuan Dynasty). This jar has quite a wide body and is unusually "heavily-potted" for its type. It is coated inside and out in a pale green Qingbai glaze that is very finely-crackled. The colour of the glaze varies a little, especially to the cover where it is a little paler...

The body of this antique Miao Chinese powder horn is carved with large spider web, small foo dogs, and clouds. The stopper is carved into a lotus blossom. The Miao believe that passed relatives take the form of spiders to visit and watch family members, so spider webs are left undisturbed in the home. This horn is from Kali area and is in excellent condition. It is 80-90 years old and approx 9" long.

Doors decorated on the inside with an exquisitely painted motif of star-shaped flowers. Wood decorated in mineral colors and gold. Very high quality. Thin metal for mandorla and crown. Japan, Edo period, 18th century.
H of case ca. 5 inches.
Most of the crown missing, some traces of usage but all in all in excellent condition.

Ancient egyptian fayence shabti of Gemshu 11,3cm

Late Period, 26th to 30th Dynasty c. 664-332 B.C

Inscription: "Gm-Sw ms, Hr-m-Axt" means "Gemshu, born by, Horemakhet" Both Gemshu "the one whom the god Shu has found" and Horemakhet "Horus is at the horizon" are personal names typical for the Late period. On personal names formed in the same manner as Gemshu see.
