This is a very nice Meiji vase from Meizan. It has excellent gold detail and enameling. It is even finished off at the inner top rim area with fine white enamel beads. The work rivals that from the Yabu Meizan factory and it is believed that some of the Meizan artists went on to work for Yabu Meizan. This beautiful 5 inch piece has slight wear to the gold but overall is in outstanding condition.

Antique Japanese Noh mask of the O-beshimi fierce deity, or mythical tengu. "Beshimi" means "mouth clamped shut". This mask is hand-carved from kiri wood, and inside you can see the chisel marks left behind by the artist. There are visible traces of white gesso in the crevices of the face, which was used as a filler to cover the wood grain. Edo period, 19th century Size: 9.5" tall, 7" wide

Circa 1900, a lovely Chinese porcelain box featuring a floral theme on all sides with engraved bronze or brass metalwork. In excellent condition including the hinge, this box measures 5" x 3.5" x 2.55".

This rare ivory carving of an empress with her attendant is a late 19th century product. It is 9” high (with a fitted hardwood carved base, it is 10 ½” high), 2 ¾” wide and 2 1/8” deep (both measured from bottom). This image depicts a story told in traditional Chinese opera and classical literature about a beautiful young noble woman, Yang YuHuan (楊 玉 環) who lived from 719 to 756 A. D...

Beautifully rendered Japanese Edo Age Bronze incensor of two playful wrestling Fu Dogs. Great attention to detail, with a stunning original natural patina, consistant with age.

Museum quality large Phayao, northern Thailand, Lan Na Kingdom period, brown and olive-glazed baluster storage jar, 1300-1500 AD. 17 1/4" tall, roughly 13" in diameter. This jar is decorated with four bands of stamped motifs, including twin fish (first band), elephants (second band), floral motifs and others. Snuff bottle made of beautiful white Peking Glass. This bottle has carvings on both sides of a face, most likely a protective deity. The bottle stopper is carved green agate in the shape of a ram-like creature with a single curved horn, its entire body coiled around itself. Brilliant snuff bottle made of crystal glass with blue, pink, and gold flecked glass spun into the matrix body. The sides and bottom of the bottle have a star design etched into the glass, and its ameythyst stopper is encircled by its silver toothed border base. early 20th century Size: 2.75" tall, 2" wide

Beautiful agate carved into a flower basket, extremely detailed. The basket has a handle with removable string attached. The basket itself has almost a flower pot shape to it, with a maze-like design carved around its sides. Beautiful and elegantly carvedpomander, carved from white Jade. Has an all over floral carved design, with linear etchings around its outer sides. Chinese antique carving of gourds, made from agate. Gourds are interesting because they have many special meanings to the Chinese. The Chinese would scoop the insides clean and use the hard outer shell as a bottle for medicines, wine, and elixirs. The vines of a bottle-gourd are pronounced as "man" or "wan", which also means "10,000" in Chinese. Because the plant has many seeds, it was symbolic for fertility (10,000 seeds/children)...

Antique carving of a cicada, made from white agate. Cicada appear quite frequently in Chinese art, typically as a symbol for rebirth and renewal. The adult cicada sheds its old skin and emerges in a beautiful, winged form, much akin to the butterfly. 19th century Size: 1.75" long, 1/2" tall
