The size of Tea Cup: 3 1/8" Dia x 2 1/4" High. The pair of Japanese Hakeme Tea Cups by 1st Kuze Kyuho (1874-1947). It is finely made with brownish earthen clay. It has finish of Hakeme, white brush stroke work glazing. The Tea cup is made finely finish. Each cup bear the Kyuho's round chop seal on the wide of Kodai (foot rim). Upon seeing eyeglasses on visiting Western dignitaries and businessmen, the Chinese perceived and admired these "spectacles" as age enhancing. Not only did the eyeglasses improve eyesight...but they added age and dignity to the face of the wearer. Equating age with wisdom and respect, many Chinese took up the custom of wearing eyeglasses...
The bone of this hair pin has carved series of circles and a very delicate cross hatch pattern. The top is decorated with strands animal hair. The hair pin is 7.5 inches long. This hair ornament is Naga, which is an indigenous tribal culture in the hills of the north east region of India.
A wonderful boxwood carved netsuke of five turtles climbing on top of each other. Intricate details can be seen throughout, creating a very realistic form. Each turtle has little black eyes. The large turtle on bottom has retreated into his shell and has the artist's signature delicately carved into his belly "Senzan".

Antique Korean bandaji chest, adorned with large brass hardware, incised with delicate floral patterns and the Chinese shou (a symbol for happiness), handle plates shaped like lucky bats, a large drop-down door opening to a large interior for storing blankets or clothes and three upper drawers. Very heavy and sturdy made of elm. Choson Period c1910.

A metal box which contains an ink stone to grind ink sticks for writing. The box has been cast in light colored brass and has a copper bottom. The ink stone is secured in the lid with a spring frame. The top of the box shows a beautifully engraved lotus flower with leafs and a bud. There are also engraved Chinese characters which say the box was presented by a younger brother to his older brother. The box measures about 3 5/8" long x 2 3/8" wide x 1" tall. The box is in good condition...
