Indian statue of a jain buddha seated in meditation with hands and feet crossed carved out of white marble. The base has a weathered donatory inscription with a horned bull or possibly a rhino in the middle. If a rhinocerous, the statue would be of Mahavira in the 11th reincarnation. Traces of red pigment. The nose was broken during the muslim invasions of India sometime between the 13th and 16th centuries. From the Mt. Abu region, 15th-16th century. It measures 13"deep, 26" wide 30" tall.

Extremely rare antique 14th-15th-century Central Asian, Timurid Islamic Indo-Persian combat steel helmet.

The helmet's hemispherical shape is crafted by hand-hammering a single piece of solid steel. The interior shows visible hammer marks, while the exterior is entirely smooth.

The skull is adorned with a hand-chiseled in low relief series of eighteen narrow ribs radiating vertically from the top of the helmet...

Chinese Southern Song Dynasty Moulded Qingbai Porcelain Vase

This attractive pear-shaped vase was made during the Southern Song Dynasty (AD 1127 - 1279), most likely at one of the kilns in Fujian province. Interestingly it is made in several sections that have been luted together. The mid section is decorated with a scrolling lotus blossom pattern, below which is a repeating lotus leaf pattern...

Small globular jar with two lugs covered by bluish glazed to the foot with brown spotted; unglazed base . PERIOD : Yuan Dynasty 1279-1368 AD. MEASUREMENTS: 6 cm wide, 6.5 cm hight. CONDITION: Perfect, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

Diameter approximately 8.9 cm. There is a soft glaze missing on the rim. In good condition.

The lion stands erect on 4 legs and incised details of the mane and head. A particularly charming specimen with finely made features of the head of the Lion, heavy body and seperate legs. Would have been quite expensive in the medieval period with it's high weight of solid bronze and nice workmanship.

This stone panel, sometimes described as a "prayer tablet", was excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province in the South-West of China and dates to the 13th to 14th century, i.e. the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) or possibly the early Ming Dynasty...

Description: A beautiful shipwrecked late Southern Song longquan celadon dish with its charming glaze was kept in very good condition except some glaze friction on the rim. Tall Chinese Song dynasty brown glazed tapering form horizontal ribbed vase. The glaze was poured into the interior while the top shoulder of the jar was left unglazed. 14” high. Circa 13th century. The unglazed base has significant grit adhering from the kiln which causes the vase to be slightly slanted and a bit unstable. There are small chips along the rolled mouth. The form of this vase would eventually develop into the better known meiping vase...

Interesting huge seal from the Oberländer collection. It was described as unidentified and probably ceramic, but to us it looks like Limestone, but we're not certain. Ancient Pre-colombian or Western Asian? There were no other precolumbian items in the collection.
