A extremely rare Southern Song ( 1127 – 1279 ) Guan ware, Guanyao washer. The well potted body in a very nice shape covered with a grayish-sea-green glaze with a highly attractive crackle. The light grey ware burnt brown in the firing. Guan´, the official ware of the southern Song court, is perhaps the most admired and desirable of all Chinese ceramics. This rare washer is probably an excavated piece. Diameter : 17,2 cm. H : 5,3 cm. Condition : Perfect.

An unusual Chinese GU crackled glaze globular vase. Tubular neck, base is unglazed and has 3 small feet. Condition good and there is no leaking. 18th/19th Century. Size: H. 5.5" x 3.5" diameter (13.5 cm. x 9 cm.)

A very rare Chinese blue and white pouch-shaped porcelain vase, 18th century, probably Qianlong period. The vase is in excellent condition, the only flaw is a short (approximately 3/8" long) kiln crack inside the rim, please see enlargement #5 for detail. Height of the vase: 8". 19th century Japanese Asakusa school staghorn kiseruzutsu - tobacco pipe case - carved with a mountainous landscape and figures of Kanzan reading an open scroll and Jittoku leaning on his broom. According to a legend, Kanzan and Jittoku lived in a kitchen of a Chinese Zen Buddhist monastery and talked nonsensical language, which some took as a sign of them being enlightened. Very clever carving incorporating outer texture of the antler and porous nature of its center as elements of design...

A simple one line Chinese calligraphy attributing to Chi Xizhao (1793-1866). The calligraphy reads: The pure jade harmonizing with the gold with the pure wind in the forest of treasure. The work is dated to year of the water boar (approximately 1863), mid spring. Chi Xizhao was a noted Qing Period poet. Chi Xizhao was a scholar of the xueshi rank during the Jiaqing period. This scroll originally was one of a pair.
