The foundation is woven with handspun blue cotton threads and silk weft embroidered, phoenix, butterfly and floral images against a “key fret” background. 4 7/8" long fossilized Megalodon sharks tooth in excellent condition. Found in a river near Savannah, GA. This size tooth is from a 50 foot long meg. Nice river polish. Heavy. These teeth are often faked. This tooth is from a 10 million year old fossil and has no repair or restoration. Most have serious undetected restoration. This one is a no-brainer. Ikat sarong from the upland Karen (Pwo or Sgaw) ethnic group in Northern Thailand. This is woven from all handspun cotton thread and natural dyes. Acquired in the 1980s, it has never been used and as such may be described as being in pristine original condtion. The cloth coming these people nowadays, are nowhere near this quality. W: 87cm/34in and L: 152cm/61in.

Very rare small celadon Yueyao lugged jar from a Zhejiang Kiln, circa Five Dynasties/Early Northern Song. This type of ceramic was a precursor to Longquan ware. There is a firing crack and some fritting (caused by pockets of air trapped beneath the glaze during firing) on one side- noted in enlargements. D: 9cm/3.5in and H: 6cm/24in.

Japanese late 19th century black and gold lacquered tray. Made by lacquer artist, MUNEMITSU. Tray measures 10" by 10" and is 1 3/8" tall.

Fine white Song Dynasty powder box with scroll pattern on lid and on base section. In very good condition. The top and bottom fit nicely together all round and are symmetrical in shape. Architectural element with an unusual decoration representing a bird with a human head. Wood, fine age patina. India, early 19th century, maybe earlier. Height: 18.8 cm. Very good condition. A rare piece.

A very unusual “klapmuts” form bowl decorated with three near identical panels composed of a scene of Chinese boys, karako, in the quise of it would appear of monks. The main figure wearing a Buddhist crown is flanked by acolytes with Chinese Fans, presumably preaching to the remaining boys, who don’t seem to be paying a great deal of attention...
