Antique Himalayan small silver Buddha Sakyamuni seated in vajrasana position on a lotus throne. His feet are folded in his lap in vajraparyankasana and his right hand reaches down in bhumispara mudra. His expression is compassionate with downcast eyes and a slight smile. The bottom of the base is covered in copper.

Nepalese Mask of a Humla Aesthete with a Thorja Topknot. 11 inches, 28 cm. From the collection of Irwin Hersey, renowned author on Asian and primitive art, and publisher of the Primitive Art Newsletter in the 1970s. Irwin Hersey was an advisor to museums and prominent collectors, and vetted pieces for many of the international tribal art fairs and Asian art fairs.

Japanese Arita porcelain square sake bottle with Dutch Kakiemon decoration. The bottle is square with a short waisted neck and everted lip. Each side is painted with unique images of birds, flowers and plants. The color scheme is iron-red, turquoise, blue and green with some gold. Minor wear consistent with age. Provenance: San Francisco collection.

19th Century Japanese Musha Ningyô of Ushiwakamaru, the boy who would grow up to become the great 12th Century warrior, Minamoto no Yoshitsune. This wonderful Boys Day Ningyo is the rarest of all the Boys Day figures. He is a fine example of Meiji Period Ningyo making. He wears gorgeous brocades and has a very expressive face. He is never seen wearing a helmet, in order to show his fantastic hairstyle. 12.25 x 16.5 inches, 31 x 42 cm. Excellent Condition.

Lovely pair of Japanese Geisha Isho Ningyo. The style of this gorgeous set is fashioned after the work of early Japanese woodblock prints artists, such as Utamaro. They are finely painted and wear sumptuous kimonos over their graceful, elongated forms. Each figure is 12.5h x 7w inches, 32h x 18w cm. Excellent Condition.

An important Germanic Visigothic belt buckle from the Migration Period, 6th century AD, Kingdom of the Visigoth, Iberian Peninsula.

The buckle plate is rectangular and has been made using the Cloisonne technique.

Description:
A black pottery inks-tone was a rare survivor of scholar items from ancient time.
With characteristic image of a toad, the ink-stone was assembled by a cover and a basin.
Vividly it was depicted on the surface with toad's skin when old adhesives were preserved within the pleats.
One old chip was found on the side of the cover.

Antique Chinese porcelain water coupe in the form of a pine branch. Whimsically sculpted with a gibbon hanging from it's handle. Glazed a lovely mauve color on the outside and a white glaze inside. Underside has Wang Bing Rong mark in a raised cartouche. Wang Bing Rong (1840-1900) specialized in carved decoration on porcelain and was active during the Tongzhi to Gunagxu Period.

Ewer with short neck which has two lugs and wide foot which has a cut foot rim. The handle is flat and double-grooved. Glaze brownish celadon. Height=18cm. Five Dynasty-Song 10th-12th century. Condition : Excellent, firing crack to the foot, without damage or restoration.

A splendid antique 19th century, Islamic, Indonesian shield of circular convex form and the flat outer rim made of hand-forged copper, applied with finely hand cut brass script in Arabic calligraphy, soldered to the surface of the shield and adorned with brass rosette repousee and pierced in lotus flower heads, four domed brass bosses and four elaborate plaques, the repousee is pierced with arabesque design. The back of the shield is affixed with a wood handle fitted in copper mounts...

An unusual early Meiji period medicine 2-tiered Kusuri chest. Made from 100% quarter sawn kiri (Paulownia) wood, and small hand forged iron pull hardware. Original warm red tones with brown undertones finish give the small chest a great sensibility. Total of 13 individual drawers, used to store and keep natural remedies, herbs and tonics.
