A Very Rare and Large Korean Wood Carved Wedding Goose (Kirogi)-19th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. A folky carved wood goose, kirogi, wedding goose, for a wedding ceremonial event, painted in polychrome pigments, white, light brownish red, green, blue and black, and carved details of the wing feathers and eyes, It’s in excellent condition with pigment colors with a rich and old dark patina of the surface of the wood. It measures 40cm L. x 25.4cm H. (15 ¾” x 10”)...

Kasuri (ikat) panel remnant with design of chrysanthemums, butterflies, and geometric squares. Japan, ca. Meji Era, 1868-1912. H.7.5"(19cm) x W.11.75"(32cm,) small 1.5cm repair patch in center. This is a wonderful example of mingei craft with a very playful image. Butterflies exist in Japanese folk imagery, but are not so common. This piece would be lovely framed.

It's a variant of the Butterlfy Kachina from Jemez that went to Zuni before it reached the Hopi. Its name is Poli Sio Hemis. White and red case mask, tableta similar to Hemis Kachina except for the addition of a tube mouth. White kilt, sash, etc. White,red, and yellow body paint. Ordinary Kachina dance. A 19th century Japanese kyodai (mirror stand) comprised of the stand on two drawer chest. Decorated with gold hiramaki-e and nashiji lacquer techniques depicting pines, prunus and grasses in rocky landscape. The prunus blossoms rendered in oxidized silver haku-e with gold details. The sculpture is of excellent quality. The Kouanyin is represented seated in a position of royal relaxation. Very heavy wood is covered with several coats of paint. The details are finely incised but are almost all covered by the paintings. The hand was made apart. The expression of the face is calm, attentive and benevolent. The movement of the fabrics is elegant.Traces of textiles.Yuan style but I am not able to certify the authenticity because there are so many copies...
