A massive high quality unguentaria made of greenish glass. Roman, Eastern Mediterranean, 2nd - 3rd century AD.

The bottle of impressive height and very solidly constructed, sound glass.

Condition: Extremely fine, unusually solid and sound green glass vessel with beautiful mild irridescence.

Peranakan Straits Chinese nyonya ware Phoenix plate from late Qing era, in good condition

Rather unusual early Showa period (1910s) Japanese mingei (Arts and Crafts) copper box with chased and enameled decoration of a puff of cloud and a white racing pigeon with feather covered legs. Wonderful combination of uchidashi (hammered-out) and moriage (piled-up) techniques: metal was raised from the opposite side and raised surface was subsequently thickly enameled and fired...

The lot also Includes a beautiful red-black stone seal with grit pattern, dating Ubaid, 4th. mill. BC, a tablet seal with decorations on all sides, and smaller later stamp seals.

The bird-faced Kami (god) Doryo Daigongen strikes a powerful pose astride the back of a mischievous white fox. Doryo is purported to have been an ascetic monk who turned himself into a Tengu when he vowed on his deathbed to protect the Mountain Temple Complex of Daiyuzen in modern day Kanagawa prefecture. This legend inspired a cult which rose to great prominence in the Edo period. To this cult the figure was the ward of Budo (martial arts)...

This is a small Yuan dynasty blue and white jarlet with a flat base and a bulb shaped body. It has two stylized stalk of sun flowers drawn around the center of the jarlet. The blue and white jarlet is probably used for oinment or some medication.

The blue and white jarlet is in good condition with a possible restoration to the right side circular ear as shown in photo number 4...

The vase is cast in one piece. Inspired by archaic Chinese bronze ritual vessels, it bears a Taotie mask decoration. This decoration is reduced to two narrow bands instead of occupying more space as usually on the bronzes of the Ming period, this more austere character, the slender shape and the patina with a much more antique aspect allows us to think so. older, probably from the Song period or earlier. Chinese Tang dynasty "Xing" Bowl. 15,2 cm diameter.

Japanese Early Meiji Period Gosho Ningyo (Palace Doll) depicted with a gift box with Daruma and featuring a crane. He is wearing a fitted silk crepe haragake bib tied at the neck and waist. He has a delightfully rendered face with a bright expression, slightly open mouth, and painted features. His forehead has a painted auspicious mizuhiki (presentation ribbon). He is covered overall in a fine white gofun (oyster shell lacquer). 4.5h x 4.5w inches, 11.5h x 11.5w cm.

Three rectangular differently sized and slightly convex silver plaques with floral decoration in blue enamel. Attached to a traditional silk and gold thread cord with adjustable sliding knot. From an old Swiss collection. Dimension of amulets: 9 cm x 7.5 cm and approx. 5.8 cm x 4.7 cm, cord c. 100 cm long, weight: 132 g. Condition: two amulets with default to lugs, enamel with partial losses.

A rare Sancai ewer with figurine of the fish and a small aubergine glaze fish among lotus, waves, covered overall with typically Sancai color of green, yellow, aubergine glazed. Condition is very good, no any chip, no any crack and free from any restoration after examination. Possibly 18th century or earlier, found at Indonesia 25 years ago. Height: 26,2 cm.

This is a japanese antique indigo dye cotto tsutsugaki futon cover.It is a design of plovers, waves and family crests.Hand-spun, natural indigo-dyed cotton that is thick and has a very nice texture.There is a very light stain, but it is not noticeable. Antique small Hirado ware figure of a tiger. Made of porcelain and glazed white with great detail especially in the fur. Hirado ware was first developed in the village of Mikawachi located in the area of Kyushu which was, along with neighboring islands, controlled by the Hirado daimyo. Initially Hirado ware was made exclusively for the daimyo's use. Later, Hirado ware found it's way west through Japan's trade with the Dutch East Indian Company...

A Chinese blue and white incense burner, bombe shaped and decorated with a vibrant underglaze blue and a continuous scene of three figures in a mountainous background , buildings and trees. Buddhist precious Objects decorate a band under the rim and the censer stands on three feet. It is a highly desirable item and a fine example of Kangxi blue and white porcelain. Age: 1662-1722. size 24.8 cm . in diameter...

Extremely rare Sage jubako in wood covered with basketry applied with flowers and plants in lacquer, gesso, mother-of-pearl and pewter (or lead). The box is composed of several stacked parts. The interior is lacquered in red. In the top compartment there are two Chinese characters which are perhaps an artist's signature. Underneath one can see the weft of a strong lacquered fabric ensuring a good solidity...
