The sword he wields is named Kurikara, the demon slayer. The rope he holds in his opposite hand is used to bind demons. A ring of purifying flames burns around his backside. She holds her hands clasped in prayer or meditation and wears long, white robes with a hood pulled over her head. She is seated upon a blue-green glazed pedestal with deep blue and red flecking. This Chinese pinafore style garment would have been worn by a small girl child of the Dong ethnic minority in Shui Kou. Fabric is handwoven from cotton fiber, hand stitched with intricate decorative applique work and hand woven snowflake pattern ribbon accents the border. No rips, no tears, and no holes...but this piece is old and has been worn and is a bit "dirty".... and still has its original ties. It is 14 inches wide and 21 inches long...great ethnographic textile for framing.

Hardware is made of brass and includes a chased brass square lock plate with double happiness characters. Doors open to reveal a large compartment for storage. A pair of Chinese enameled porcelain plates, having butterfly and Buddha's hand citron decoration on a turquoise ground, with six-character Jiaqing reign marks to the undersides. Size; Diameter of each plate is 6 7/8 inches and both items are in great condition with no imperfections.

Gorgeous Chinese silk robe in an ivory color, with allover pattern of silk dragons and clouds. The breast of the robe has a large, beautiful phoenix with cascading feathers in light pink, grey, gold, and off white, with pink forbidden stitching around its face. Silk leaves with gold stitching and pink budding flowers decorate the lower front of the robe. The robe is edged in silk leaves and flower buds, zig-zagging stitches, and forbidden stitches. The crimson red ground worked in metal wrapped threads and polychrome silk, woven with a flower in lozenge shaped lattice. Composed of several pieces, two edges with Russian printed cotton fabric. Classic long sleeved silk brocade cheongsam aka qipao. This is all hand tailored and hand sewn, definitely not off the rack. Beautiful floral pattern (lotus, chrysanthemum, and pomegranate blossoms) with foliate scrolls, this pattern can be traced back to Ming Dynasty blue and white porcelain. The zipper has come off the track other than that perfect condition. See enlargements for dimensions. Clean but could use a steam press. More dimensions can be provided for a serious buyer.

Early Japanese version of today's carpenters tool called a "chalk box". Carved from a block of wood, the well would hold cotton saturated with charcoal ash...this one has original wheel and string and shows that it has been well used....

Chinese Red Lacquer Bamboo Bridal Food Basket, early 1900's, 15" high with handle, 10" wide & square, contains inner wood tray inside the lower compartment, high lighted with raise carved gold lacquered design on high handle, one metal butterfly is missing on one side.

Chinese Nephrite Jade Toggle, boy holding branch tightly, 2 3/4" high, 1 3/8 wide, 1" deep, light Celadon color, nice old patina. The condition is good, no damage.

Antique Quanyin stone carving, the bodhisattva of compassion. She is seated upon a lotus throne with her legs crossed in the lotus position, her left hand holding a container, with her right hand performing the akash mudra or Buddhist hand gesture, increasing the space element within. She wears beautiful open robes with delicate patterns and a crown upon her head.
