Antique Japanese kiri (paulownia) choba tansu, or merchant's chest with a pair of sliding door panels and interior shelving. Six drawers of varying size all open with squared "kakute" handles and have round iron locks. A great piece with original finish.

Small wide mouth grey pottery jar with “soy” brown glaze from an unknown Southern Kiln. The glaze resembles Jizhou ware. Circa Song Dynasty or earlier, the body is quite thinly potted with delicate lugs near the mouth. There is fritting on the mouth and handle but no cracks or chips. H: 9cm/3.5in and D: 6cm/2.3in.
Width approximately 18 cm (across the handles). In good condition.

Dragons charge the sides of this large water urn covered in crackled pale glaze emblazoned with a panel which specifies: Water for the 11 Faced Kannon (Quanyin). Inside is lined with iron glaze. Outside key frets surround the rim leading to a nearly flat shoulder upon which blossom five petaled plum flowers. This Tibetan shrine shaped gau (aka prayer box) is actually a religious shrine. When not being worn as an ornament during festivals, it would be kept in the prayer niche of the family home. The back of the box slides open. Frequently, a special prayer i.e. sutra pages would be placed inside. The small glass window at the front displays a Tsa tsa, which is a clay statue of a Buddhist Diety. These statues were made only by the monks and considered to be a holy relic...
This unique extraordinarily rare maskette is made from translucent polished woolly mammoth bone with tremendous character. It has a carved hairline and incised cheeks. A charming porcelain statue was rarely found from an old collection.
In amusing subject of Mother and Child, this statue was put in the famous Chinese antique magazine Art and Collection - May edition, to celebrate the international Mother's Day of May.
It was well preserved without any crack-lines and was free from any restorations.
Of course, due to long time of burial, some abrasions were caused to the surface (see details)...
A Chinese Celadon Glazed Stem-Cup. Circa, 14th Century, Yuan Dynasty.
Found in the Philippines.
Featuring rounded walls, rising to a slightly everted rim and is supported by a long waisted foot. It is covered overall in a green celadon glaze, except for the foot-ring.
Measurements: height (4"inches), diameter (4.8"inches) across.
Condition: perfect condition. No repairs...
