Chinese pottery brown glazed granary, with cylindrical shape, decorated with bands of incised lines, and supported by three legs in the shape of bears. Lead glaze with copper is the main colorant used in Han period to produce brown glaze. Brownnware became popular during the Eastern Han period.

The Jun glaze is a complex blue glaze which was developed in Henan province during the the Northern Song and Jin dynasties, occasionally with red streaks. Jun wares have their name after Jun zhou from where it originated...

This is indigo dye cotton tsutsugaki textile futon cover at the edo-Meiji era. Very auspicious, brave hawk and pine tree design. The material is thick indigo-dyed cotton. The technique of indigo dyeing Tsutsugaki is very good and beautiful. It is unused and has no stains or damage. The state is excellent. It is a very valuable gem. Please add it to the collection. Late 19th century netsuke of a peasant seated on a bundle of firewood smoking a pipe and helping to light the pipe of the other man with a rain hat. Old loss to the smoking parts of both pipes, Very good carving, great faces, multiple inlays to their clothes. Signed CHIKUZAN on inlaid lacquer plaque on the bottom - there is an artist who signed with these characters listed in NETSUKE by Neil Davey (p. 453, number 147), but I am not sure it is the one who carved this netsuke...
