Chinese 2 section cabinet made of light color jumu (elm) wood, the top section cabinet doors cover an open compartment with a shelf and two small drawers, the bottom section has 2 exterior drawers and another set of cabinet doors, circa 1900. Size: 67" high x 38 1/4" wide x 18" deep.

Mid 18th century bronze sitting Guan Yin statue from Nepal. It is 8 ½ inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4 inches deep. A few holes have appeared in the thinner parts of the casting and two fingers are missing. It is in fair condition.

Chinese jade carving known as a cong, an implement dating back to Neolithic China, once used for unknown but culturally important reasons. The cong is often seen with squared outer edges carved of a taotie or beast's mask, which the inside is smoothed round with a central groove. The stone's coloring is light green with mottled brown.

19th century 2-toned ichii (yew wood) netsuke of a seated chubby puppy. Netsuke is skillfully carved in characteristic Hida school ittobori (one cut) style with clever use of wood color and structure to add to the charm of the piece. Wonderful face with surprised expression, eyes are inlaid with black horn, wonderful mellow patina. Very pretty and rare boxes of a pair of gold and polychrome lacquered ducks in perfect condition. On a base of taka maki-e lacquer (feather reliefs) and nashiji (gold powder) inside. Period: Meiji (1868-1912). Length 14.5 cm x height 7.5 cm. Wooden box.

A large rosewood, huanghuali brush pot, bitong of simple cylindrical form with thick walls and the base with an inset plug. The wood grain has particularly nice patterns, with a few 'ghost eyes', and a wonderful deep honey-brown patina. H 16 x 16,4 cm Diameter Late Ming/ early Qing Dynasty. Condition: good with a couple of chips at the lower part and thin hairline at the bottom.

Thai wood carving, carved as Naga under leaf-shape, painted with lacquer and golden colour, decorated with mirror-tiles, used for temple decoration.

A Ming Dynasty blue and white saucer with two kid playing, in good condition

This celadon jade carving of a vessel with lid is a late 19th or early 20th century product. The vessel is called a "ding;" 鼎 a "Taotie" 饕餮 mask appears on both sides of the vessel. It is 5 ½” high (with carved hard wood base is 6 ¾” high), 7 ¾” wide and 2” thick. A ding is an ancient Chinese cauldron with legs, a lid and two handles opposite each other. This ancient Egyptian Scarab for Tuthmosis III is more than 3,000 years old. It's from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 9/16” long (14 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated.
