Later Qing dynasty “Zisha” Yixing incense burner. It is preserved intact, with traces of soot, use and wear. In inscription 心淘 (Digging Inside of the heart) was carved by a craftsman or collector in a conspicuous place. An incredibly large and heavy hand carved wood architectural piece, with high relief carved pair of dragons on either side of a central ball of light surrounded in sacred lingzhi clouds. Depicted is a pair of mystical dragon fish on either side, a traditional symbol in China of transformation and new beginnings. The carving floats on a custom steel plates and mounts.

Early 19th century wooden netsuke of sitting man with a folded fan in his lap. The figure probably represents a traveling street entertainer - a storyteller. Superbly expressive face left unlacquered to allow for detailed carving, the rest of the netsuke is lacquered in Negoro style - red lacquer over black, so as it wears the black and then wood starts showing, thus adding yet another color to the piece...

Elegant pear-form vase with a gracefully tapering neck is raised on an elongated and subtly flaring foot. It is covered overall in a medium-blue robin’s egg-type glaze mottled with lighter and darker blues that drains toward the foot with violet-toned mottling. This is a fabulous bronze axe from ancient China. Socketed axes of thus type were typical to the Northern tribes in Shang and Early Zhou periods (circa 1100 BC). This particular type is quite rare and rarely seen in private collections.

A beautifully polished ritual hand axe in a mottled green nephrite with lighter inclusions dating to the late Neolithic period, circa 3500-2500BCE. Looking at the piece you can almost gain the impression of looking down at the sea from a great height, with scattered bits of land. A truly beautiful stone. Four inches in height (4") by 3" at the widest (10cm X 7.5cm).This piece has been seen and authenticated and is guaranteed to be ancient.
