Motifs of filigree and flora are seen through the silver plating. The leather purse is made to hold a flint piece and some burnable material. A genuine Shan State Bronze Buddha, 17/18th Century, subduing Mara and sitting on a fine stepped throne. Front base has engraved Shan script. The Buddha is filled and heavy, not hollow. It also has an old original dark patina with traces of gilt and very few remnants of cinnabar paint. Size: Height 20.5 cm x 13 cm (8.25" x 5.25" inches). Good condition overall.

Late Qing Dynasty (1880s to 1911) Chinese bronze incense burner in a shape of a standing mandarin duck with its head raised. A beautifully colored mottled nephrite jade disc (sword-pommel) in colors of cream, rust and grey. In the center is a small hole encircled by flower petals. A double-lined rim borders the outer rim of the petals. A band of C-curl patterns extend to the double-lined outer rim. The surface of reverse side has a couple of cleavage planes natural to the stone. Size: Diameter: 2-3/16" Condition: No chips or repairs.

This is a stunning Ruby Red Glass Snuff Bottle, finely carved in relief with the twelve Chinese Zodiac Animals. Rounded body with a leafy lappet border around the neck, and a raised oval footing. Coral and brass stopper.

Fine Japanese carved netsuke of a rat gnawing on his tail; natural material; honey-coloured patina; two age lines present; excellent hair work and inlaid horn eyes; signed with the mark Kaigyoku

It is woven with common hemp thread, indigo-silk thread dyed beautifully and a double cotton thread dyed black. It is a very rare textile made in Iwate. The dye of the silk thread is bright blue. However, you can feel that you leave it a little in green. It is Noragi thick beautifully made in the Showa era from the Taisho era. Size 94cm x 116cm (37 "x 45.6")

An antique Japanese Ko Tansu (personal storage chest) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand made iron fittings including the Warabite handles and finish. The front has a natural Kirinoki wood finish while the case was finished in a wiped Urushi lacquer technique. Constructed using straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails.

Chinese fan painting of a stand of bamboo growing near a group of moss-covered rocks. A poem written in the upper right hand corner says: 细竹千竿満地 which translates as "A thousand stalks of slender bamboo cover the ground". The seal is a bit hard to make out but appears to read: 鄭 Zhèng. That character seems to also appear towards the end of the text. The next character after it and in the seal is 名 (míng, 'name')...

Unusual material for the subject, strong early piece with beautiful wear and patina consistent with age, wonderful face, powerful oversized paws, eyes are inlaid with brown horn. Larger than usual bucchero ware kantharos of canonical shape. The high-swung strap handles attached at the rim and the dented ridge at the join to the straight wall. Standing on a low flared foot. Incised lines just below the rim.

An antique Japanese Chobako (merchant safe-keep box) made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood with original hand forged iron hardware. Acquired a beautiful 200+ year old age patina. Hinged door secures 3 drawers behind which lies a secret box located behind the side by side drawers above.

A rare jade archer,s ring, which to me is the actual archers ring used with the bow and arrow rather then the better know thumb ring which is more a piece of jewelry. It was used on the thumb, that's where the "thumb ring" comes from and more than likely on a gloved hand due to the size. See the last three photos of a similar one in a Chinese jade book. Signed Juzan (ishikawa Komei) This is a finely carved boxwood netsuke depicting Tanuki, seated, wearing a kimono, with a striker on his right hand, getting ready to beat his hairy distended scrotum that is resting on a cushion as if it were a mokugyo. Very skillfully done miniature sculpture that is signed Juzan within an oval reserve on the bottom of the netsuke. The cord holes (himotoshi) are lined up with natural material.

Beautiful Chinese small silk purse, salmon colored silk sewn into intricate raised pattern with metallic thread, silk lining on inside, sewn onto each side is a beautiful carved white jade butterfly 2 3/4" wide. The purse cord is braided metallic thread with three carved linked white jade rings on end. Republic Period (although jade is probably older). Purse is 5 1/2" wide.
