Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese wooden kushi (hair comb) with red and gold lacquer decoration of squares containing all different scenes with landscapes and flowers. Beautifully made out of dense wood allowing for fine teeth, very good lacquering, wonderful work in Japanese taste, overall in excellent condition. Length 4.36 inches.

This is a fabulous rare piece of Japanese Cloisonne. It is not signed but it could have easily been made Hayashi, Kinuken, or Miwa. It stands inches 6 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

An unusual moulded dish decorated with swirling ribbon like Shonsui brocades alternating with depictions of the Shochikubai. The central Mikomi decorated with a floral motif of two stylised flowers surrounded by a broad band of alternating cartouches in kakiwake style with auspicious objects, Chinese and Japanese Fans and a Whisk, and Cranes. The dish has a fuchi beni, iron brown glazed rim with no pattern to the reverse...

Japanese antique Satsuma ware incensor in the form of a fudog with a child on top of a drum on his back, very charming, drum is painted with images of children, Meiji Period. Size: 5 3/4" high x 5" long.

A katchushi (or armorer's) tsuba, probably Myochin, with pierced decoration of ship's rudders (the significance being a comparison of rudders steering a ship to values guiding a Samurai's life choices.) The strong, homogenous, dense iron plate with only light tekkotsu and smooth to the touch. Dark patina. Momoyama to early Edo. A Khyber Hawthorn ironstone drainer circa 1875 by Wedgwood & Co. This scarce serving platter sized pierced drainer is in the English ironstone transferware pattern Khyber Hawthorn, issued c1875-80 by Podmore & Walker / Wedgwood & Co. This 13" x 9-3/8" drainer features a great blue/black transfer of flowers, and it has the retailer's mark (James Green & Nephew, London)...

Jar is in very good condition no chip no crack no restoration.
