Fine Small Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Celadon Glazed Porcelain Jar
This attractive small porcelain jar was made in the 12th - 14th century during the Song (AD 960 - 1279) or the Yuan Dynasty (1279 - 1368). It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a thick pale olive-green glaze. The body, when soft, was indented with five wide vertical impressions to give it a lobed appearance. The foot remains unglazed revealing the pale grey body...

This is a northern Song dynasty green glazed bowl. It stands on a foot rim with a recess base exposing the light buff colour stoneware and then extending upwards with a C-shaped rounded body with a rounded rim like a lip. On the cavetto, it is incised with four bud of swirling flowers with lightly combed designed in between and the centre of the bowl.

Unusual gray stoneware jar found of the West Coast of Sri Lanka. Impossible to accurately identify it’s origin, I am assuming it is from East or Southeast Asia possibly even Japanese. This was acquired in Kandy, Sri Lanka over 20 years ago. I would date this to about 10th to 12th century. The mouthrim is unique, stopper would be inserted and covered than it tied down with a cord. H: 22cm/8.6in x D 17cm/6.8in. Very attractive piece, just a shallow chip on the mouth rim.

This is a small and beautiful qingpai ewer of very mild greenish hue. It stands on a short recessed base and then everted upward to a bulbous body, with a sligltly sloping shoulder and the a short slanted neck towards a bowl like mouth rim. Under the sunlight, the ewer has a mild greenish appeareance. Under normal sun light, the ewer has a mild greenish hue but under normal room light, it appears to have a greyish hue. It is a bit trying to get the actuakl colour of this piece...
