A delightful and rare Antique Chinese good quality Silver Pumpkin shape box, ca. 1840. Has intricate details and a leaf on top. Very good condition and workmanship, no repairs or alterations. Size: H. 4 cm. x 7 cm. diameter (1.5" x 2.75"). Bottom has clear pinpointed Chinese character mark.

The hardstone point is probably made in agate and is very beautiful in hand. They can probably be dated to the 2nd.-1st. millenium BC, but 1 could be much earlier...

Firestones were used to produce sparks in combination with an iron striker.

Lovely lot with some very elaborately knapped types in different kinds of fine stones. The lot includes early types from c. 4.000 BC or earlier to perhaps as late as 2000 BC, more research is needed to accurately date each point...

Girl's kimono made of hamp, made in Ohmi region in Shiga prefecture, and it is called Ohmi-jofu. It has kasuri pattern, whose motifs are phoenix, cloud and flower. Warps are machine-spun and wefts are hand-plied. Red cloth inside is silk. Meiji period (1868~1912) In excellent condition. W:97cm, L:107cm
Unusual 19th century Chinese soapstone double seal of rectangular section with two sides carved with sunken characters. Third catalogue photo includes images of both printing surfaces flipped left to right to show what the imprint of the seals will look like. Nice buff colored stone, crisp carving of the characters, old traces of red seal paste in the grooves of the characters, in excellent condition, very nice scholar’s object. Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese wooden kushi (hair comb) with red and gold lacquer decoration of squares containing all different scenes with landscapes and flowers. Beautifully made out of dense wood allowing for fine teeth, very good lacquering, wonderful work in Japanese taste, overall in excellent condition. Length 4.36 inches.
19th century/Meiji period Japanese bone paper knife/page turner with low relief carving of a butterfly in flight above a flowering peony bush issuing from rocks. Very nice quality carving, brown, green and red ink highlight. Great patina, signed OSAI on the back, pleasant to hold, good desk object. Length 5 15/16 inches.
