Antique Japanese Shō, mouth organ (flute) used in Gagaku (classical performances traditionally for the imperial court). A musician blows through the silver lined protruding mouthpiece. The air travels through the bamboo tubes creating notes (said to sound like the Ho bird or phoenix). Skillful musicians are able to blow air in and out of the mouth pieces creating sustained, uninterrupted notes.
The arrangement of bamboo tubes are said to resemble the folded wings of the phoenix...

This remarkable artifact is a bronze sword that dates back to the 14th and 10th century B.C. It was discovered in the North-Western Asiatic-Caspian Sea area and features a finely cast tapering double-edged blade with a median ridge. Gracefully cast with head bent toward the ground, ears forward and with a friendly expression The oval shaped top portion of his saddle is removable and has a pierced design on the seat where the incense smoke would have escaped. This is further emphasized by the cast design of swirling smoke on the horses saddle cloth.

The rectangular iron box and lid inlaid in silver with a “Shou” (longevity) surrounded by key-fret and coil pattern designed borders on the cover and with symbols of longevity “turtle and deer and auspicious floral plants on the sides of the box, each of the four sides silver inlaid with geometric patterns and borders of fretwork...

Dating: Early 19th Century. Provenance: Indo/Persia. Slightly curved, double-edged blade, ribbed at the tip, with double fuller, decorated with a gold-inlaid, floral cartouche at the forte; rock crystal grip, slightly curved, with pommel worked as a bud. Dimensions: length, 35 cm.

Folk Art Duck Decoy hand carved from wood with yellow eye created from a thumb tack, 19th century. The bird is painted black with white highlights and a grey bill. It has a leather strap on the base for pulling the decoy in the water.
CONDITION: signs of wear on leather and on the base of the decoy, as well as paint chip on the bill, hole behind the strap. The yellow thumb tack is probably a later replacement.

A rare Yuan dynasty 14th century double gourd ewer with cover, rounded side with double gourd shape and unglazed base, this ewer decorated with under glaze iron spots with qingbai glaze.
Ewer is in good condition with spout broken off and re attach and covered with silver mounted, complete condition on handle and bodies still original.
