Large Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Glazed Buddhist Jar

This large and impressive pottery jar was made around the 13th / 14th century, during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) or the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). Until recent years, this type of jar was almost unknown in the west with some people initially attributing them to the Liao Dynasty (same general period but in the north of China). These jars are now known to have originated from Yunnan province in the south-west of China...

This is Song dynasty Henan russet splash bowl. On the inside of the bowl there are two rows of iron brown streak flowing down along the cavetto and another row lower down. On the outside of the bowl, it is glazed with a black coloured glossy glazed covering all the way down just before the footrim.

Condition: No rdamage, repair, crack, chip or restoration...

Chinese Northern Song Large bowl. 23,5 cm diameter. 8 cm high. Bowl has small chipped at the rim and glaze degradation (please see on the pictures).

This is a late southern Song dynasty black glazed ewer. It stand on a short recessed base exposing the buff colour earthen clay material. It has two moulded leaf motif ear to the left and right shoulder of the ewer. The real item looks nicer than the photographs

Generally in good condition. No repir, chip or restoration. As can be seen in photographs 4 and 5, there are glaze crazing and some minute pin holes...

A conical shape bowl with fairly thickly potted, covered overall with an apple green celadon glaze. Possibly early Ming dynasty 15th century. Condition is good except a kiln chip to rim and slight warped, otherwise is perfect. Diameter: 13.6 cm.

The urn is made of very hard porcelain stoneware, the body and lid were turned. 5 cases were glued to the slip on the shoulder, as they are deeply hollow, without however crossing their support, I think that they must have served as a receptacle for incense sticks, a decoration of petals and stylized flowers is vigorously incised before firing, then covered with a cracked celadon glaze. This is an Chinese Yue green glaze celadon container powder box (currently used for agarwood chip for burning) it is from Five Dynasties to Northern Sung Dynasty era. Condition not perfect as the base portion glaze already degraded, the cover not perfect with hairline crack as shown but can be an sample study piece. size >10cm for the diameter, please look carefully before buying it....thanks

This is an elegant Jun yao vase, in very nice/perfect condition and with the whitish splashed on one side to add to its' beauty as one of the best chinese classical ware since Sung Dynasty, the bluish glaze of clear sky feeling make u wonder how the potter make it in those by-gone era. Set of 4 interesting Chinese Yuan dynasty brown glaze dishes with sea wave decorations and unknown scripts, most likely Phags pa script, an alphabet designed by the Tibetan monk and State Preceptor as a unified script for the written languages within the Yuan.
