A figural corkscrew in the form of an equestrian boot by the R Blackinton Co. of N Attleboro, MA. The boot is nicely detailed to appear like textured leather. The corkscrew/opener is silverplated steel for strength. The boot is fully hallmarked on the bottom.

A small, well potted porcelain dish with incised decoration and glazed with a nice, glossy, pale, creamy blue Qingbai glaze. The base of the dish full covered with glaze like we do know this from Ding ware dishes. The rim of the dish unglazed. Southern Song Dynasty ( 1127 - 1279 ). Diameter : 10,3 cm.
Condition : Perfect, with a very nice glaze and a pale "ping" tone when tapped.

Japanese small kiri storage box with a bamboo carrying handle. It has two small squared drawers, one long, thin bottom drawer with a warabite handle, and a lift away panel with a spacious storage area.

Wooden figure of a lion, companion to Fugen bosatsu. On his back he carries a lotus base, on which Fugen used to sit (figure missing). The lion stands on high and slightly stiff legs, each foot positioned on a small lotus base.
The figure has been carved out of several blocks of wood that were subsequently assembled into the final figure. This technique is called yosegi saiku and was widely used for complex sculptures like these. The tail is stuck into the back, remaining loose...

These fine porcelain ewers are made in a neoclassical style with a slightly flaring base supporting a bulbous body whose neck narrows before ending in an elongated spout. Tall dramatic handles are attached to the vase. Rich cobalt blue panels alternate with white ground spaces each having simple floral embellishments surrounded by gilded swirls and scrolls. DESCRIPTION: A large and masterfully carved Chinese shou shan stone (soapstone) seal in tall rectangular form, the knob carved with a crouching dragon having both wings tucked back covering its sides, and whose mouth is poised to grasp the sacred pearl. On each flat surface of the base are engraved inscriptions and characters among idyllic scenes of rivers with boats, hills, houses and pavilions. Beautiful pair of Chinese hardwood chairs with a dark reddish brown tone and smooth finish. It has an open back with a center support panel, carved with an auspicious Chinese design. The connected headrest and arms run along the top of the chair, with two curving vertical panels on either side. The legs of each chair are carved with squared spiral designs.

A rare and splendid genuine Ming Dynasty Tomb Pottery Horse bending it's head down with a seated musician playing the cymbals. This is one of the earliest Ming pieces, ca. 1400 A.D., depicting a beautiful and elegant horse with fine modeling.
