This is a finely hand-carved Ebony Netsuke attributed to Jikan Ganbun, depicting a Tree Stump. Nicely detailed rendering of a tree stump with its rough textured exterior contrasting with a smooth top and bottom that are styled in a star shaped manner. The concave stump is slightly hollowed out, with a smaller stump on its side. There is a tiny ant looking figure that has been carved inside the stump. Netsuke is unsigned. It measures 1.25 inches in diameter and 0.50 inch tall...

Featuring a globular body, tapering to its shoulders to a flared mouth with a short curved spout, opposite its curved handle and is covered overall in a pale green celadon glaze. This Japanese ceremonial Tenmoku style chawan (tea bowl) is a late Meiji period product. It is 5 ½” in diameter at the top, the foot is 1 ½” in diameter and 2” high. It has a very dark brown with white textured spots on the exterior. The base is not glazed and there is a swirl mark in the center. The interior of the chawan is richly colored black, dark brown, light brown and grayish blue. It is in excellent condition.

A famille rose enameled porcelain plate decorated with dragons, phoenix, crane, butterflies and other motifs on coral-red ground, a six character red enamel "Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi" mark is on the bottom. This plate was one of the party wares with similar designs made for Emperor Guangxu's wedding in 1888. The plate is in excellent condition beside some scratches on enamel - no chip, no hairline and no restoration. Diameter: 9"

Edo Period (circa 1820) Japanese Musha Ningyo of Ushiwaka- maru, a brave boy who grew up to be the great warrior Minamoto Yoshitsune. This is a wonderful, rare early example with ail of his original accessories. He is wearing sumptuous brocades and lacquered armor and has a wonderful bearing and just a great face. 13.25 inches, (33.5cm) tall. From a widely renowned and published collection that has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum and Japan Society.
