Large mask, of fierce expression, with protruding forehead and nose, and large, pierced through eyes, nostrils and mouth. The mask is covered with numerous small holes around the eyebrows, under the nose and around the chin, in which animal hair has been inserted and glued with wax. Wood, with dark-brown, sometimes encrusted, patina. Asia, Himalayan Region , 18th century, maybe earlier. Height: 14 1/2" (36 cm). A Chinese Ribbed Celadon Jar and Cover. Circa, 14th Century, Yuan Dynasty. Found in the Philippines. Featuring a ribbed ovoid shaped body, topped with a rounded cover with undulating edges. Statue of Jambhala, also known as Kubera or Vaishravana, wearing necklace, dhoti and diadem, sitting on a double lotus throne, holding the mongoose that spits jewels in his left hand and a currency in his right hand. The statue may have had a mandorla affixed at its back in the past. Bronze, with green and reddish patina particularly under the statue. Tibet, early 19th century. Height: 7 cm. Very good condition. NOTE: Kubera is the Tibetan God of Wealth and Prosperity.

Peacock in cast bronze and partially gilded shakudo in 2 shades of gold. Japanese work in the style of Miyao around 1900. No signature. Hardwood and boxwood plinth.Good condition, no welding and original patina. Very slight wear, insignificant for a century-old object. The body of the peacock is raven wing black which suggests that it is in shakudo which represented a significant additional cost, the shakudo alloy being obtained by adding gold to copper. Total height about 16cm.

Antique Japanese coral brooch that has been exquisitely carved with chrysanthemums and peonies. Certain areas have been pierced through, adding to the depth of the carve work. Size: 1.75" length

Large porcelain bowl, decoration painted in red iron oxide on cracked glaze, gold details. On the outside, Buddhist lions (Shishi) are represented moving among peonies. Inside are finely drawn landscapes in reserves and elegant cranes in flight. Each landscape is annotated with Chinese characters which probably indicate what place it is. Under the Kutani kilns mark. Very nice example of this production and beautiful size...

Antique Japanese small ko tansu made all of sugi (cryptomeria) wood with lovely raised akita sugi wood on the front. Three large drawers with squared iron drawer pulls and rectangular locks. On the lower right hand portion are two small drawers with ring pulls.

The painting was attributed to Shao Mi (1592-1642). Shao Mi was a Chinese landscape painter, calligrapher, and poet during the Ming Dynasty. Shao was born in Changzhou County (now part of Suzhou) in the Jiangsu province. His style name was “Seng-mi” and his sobriquets were “Gua-chou” and “Fen-tuo jushi”...

Antique bronze Krishna in the pose of playing a flute. Krishna charmingly lets his head fall to one side as he plays a flute or other wind instrument. His head is topped with a stuppa like head covering. He wears very light weight garments. Obtained from Katmandu in the 1960s, made in the 20th century. It measures 9.25" tall base 3.5" diameter

Set of fittings in cast and hammered bronze, suitable for 2 Chinese cabinets with one door or for a large cabinet with double doors. All the elements are decorated with chisel-engraved dragons. A padlock is part of the lot. Hand-threaded rods and nuts allow the installation of fittings on the furniture. An antique Japanese Isho Tansu (clothing chest) made entirely of Sugi (Cryptomeria) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hikute style handles. Three drawers for Kimono storage with a small corner drawer where fashion accessories were stored.

A sancai-glazed water pot; Tang dynasty. The fine water pot, made for the scholar's desk, of compressed globular form with an incised line around the rim, decorated with green and ochre splashes around the shoulders. With a wooden box, and from an old Japanese collection. Diameter, approximately 10 cm. Condition: good, with wear commensurate with age.

Head of a lohan (or "arhat"), one of the 18 disciples of Buddha, wearing mustache and goatee, his face displaying a severe expression. Wood, with remnants of the original plastering (used to support a former polychrome painting, now gone), Eyes made of black glass. China, early 18th century, probably earlier. Height: 12" (30 cm).
