A beautiful pair of Japanese bowls by Koransha, “the company of the scented orchid”, c 1920 or earlier. Decoration in under-glaze blue of leaves, and berries and smaller leaves in over-glaze red and turquoise. Height "2¼/ 6 cm, diameter "4/ 10,5 cm. Condition: restored chip to foot-rim of one bowl, as seen on photos.
A large lacquered papier maché table snuff box made in Braunschweig (Brunswick), Germany. The lid with a portrait of an old man, a prophet. Early 19th century, probably by Stockmann, unsigned. Diameter "4½/ 11 cm, height "1½/ 4 cm. Condition: a chip to the inner rim of the box, as seen on photo.
This crystal cordial glass was produced in Bohemia in the late 19th century. There are no marks to identify the maker. The glass is 9 1/4
Inches high and the diameter of the opening is 2 1/4 inches. The crystal is hand blown. The stem has an elongated air twist stem. There is hand painted enamel decoration on the top. It is accented with blue beading and gold trim.
Condition: Excellent

This is an fine Japanese Cloisonne Koro in nearly mint condition. It has been used and some of the smoke residue can be seen on the underside of the lid. There are no damages and virtually wear to the gold. The koro stands 4 1/4 inches tall and is 3 1/2 inches wide.
This crystal decanter was produced in the United States in the late 19th century. It is not marked, therefore we are unable to precisely identify the manufacturer. It is evident in the fine quality that it was produced by a respected company. The decanter is 8 1/2 inches high. The diameter of the base is 4 1/4 inches. The decanter has an interesting shape in that it bulges out and pulls in below the handle. The cutting is very fine with intricate designs...
A beautiful creamware tureen and lid, probably Leeds, but possibly a Staffordshire factory. Of oval, quatrefoil shape with molded shell borders, scrolled handles, and a pomegranate finial, painted with turquoise and black enamel trim. An identical, undecorated example is shown in "Creamware and Other English Pottery at Temple Newsam House Leeds", item 331.
The overall condition of this wonderful example is excellent, with no cracks or chips...

Description:
A wood water basin was nicely carved in shape of a lotus leaf with a lotus pond.
It was preserved in very good condition by nice brownish patina.
Some of the seeds in the lotus pond were still movable when some were sticked but nothing is missing.
It was a charming and very rare piece by this type.
Most of the old wood pieces were made as brush pots in relief carving...

The variety and types of embroidery stitches on this antique Chinese hat are old typically Miao minority. Probably done by dotting grandmother. The silver ornaments, the butterfly, the bubbles are symbolic of the Miao myth regarding the birth of the human race. The hat shows some dirt but is otherwise in good condition.
