Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese wooden kushi (hair comb) with black and lacquer decoration of pendant branches with leaves and inlaid silver florets. Beautifully made, very nice lacquering, wonderful work in Japanese taste, in very good condition. Length 4.42 inches.
Early 19th century boxwood netsuke of a man with a horn on his head, bent under the weight of a richly dressed woman on his back. The subject of the netsuke is Ikkaku Sennin (single horn Sage) carrying princess Sendarama on his back - according to Japanese legend, he grew angry with the Rain Dragons and sealed them away in a cave, causing a drought. Beautiful Indian princess was sent to tempt him and when he could not hold on to his chastity vow, he lost his magical powers, and the rain returned...
Amazing boro sodenashi (sleeveless) noragi, whose ground cloth as well as mending patches are mostly vegetable indigo dye cotton cloth. Some of sashiko yarns are indigo dye hemp.

A pair of antique Japanese Baku corbels hand caraved from solid Keyaki wood. Rare flaming mane design adds a dragon-like fear to wore off evil spirits. Used under the eaves of Japanese temples and shrines, they devour dreams and nightmares as they protect against evil. The open mouth Baku expels all evil while the closed mouth Baku retains the good spirit.

Chinese Green Porcelain Pen or Brush Holder. The green glaze has an "oil on water" effect and gives an excellent impression. The shape of a table makes it rare and interesting. This is Edo kasuri child kimono echigo-jyofu Rare. It is wonderful, beautiful kasuri. The motif looks like amaryu (raining dragon). There are a little stain and a small hole. However, the state is very good. I recommends it for your collection. Textile seems to be hand spun and woven, and has soft touch.
Echigo-jyofu was born in middle (749-756) on the age of Jomon. In it, latter term (1670-1780) was a season from the middle of Edo period...

Original Antique Japanese gyosho bako (merchant's chest) made from kiri (paulownia) wood with a red lacquer finish. Its front features two doors on iron hinges, with iron fan shaped corner hardware and locks. Many drawers of varying size and handle styles sit within. The sides of the box have iron rings for a merchant to attach straps and carry. Original condition and glowing finish. Wonderful piece.

A fine snuff tobacco container made of a dried, double gourd, decorated with gilt silver mounts and inset with carnelian and tiny blue and white cabochons. The ram horn-shapped stopper is attached to an elaborate silver chain. These tobacco containers were used by the Turkman tribes. Condition: fine, few traces of usage. Dimension: c. 14.8 cm long, Diameter: c. 6.2 cm.
Silver Repousse Censer with Dragon Ears, Figurines, and Fu Lion Finial, Circa 1920's
It is 6.25 inches (15.5 cm) tall, and 7.5 inches (19 cm) wide.
It is in good condition with no repairs, cracks, or chips, except the dragon ears are loose, a dent at the side of the lid, and the lip of the lid is also slightly bent (as seen in the photos).

Exceptionally beautiful Japanese lacquer box with a small doll, mame (pea sized) Ichimatsu nigyo (doll) inside - she actually is 4 ½” tall. This must have been some girl's (or woman’s) treasure box years ago. It may have been a gift from her mother or grandmother. The lacquer box is decorated with auspicious designs; a long tailed turtle emerging from a stream, pine, bamboo and rocks on the bank with a crane flying above...
