Jade water bucket in form of amusing toad.Inlaid with yellow metal. It is impossible to check if it is gold because it would be necessary to tear off encrustations to test ,however the object has not been cleaned for several years and only gold can remain shiny, bronze or brass would have oxide. The metal wires in some places are split in half lengthwise, which is probably due to a certain technique? The work is very neat, underneath there are traces of tools which should help a specialist...

This is a graphic pin cushion from the 1860's in brown, blue and tan star pattern. The back is a egg wash blue linen. It has a nice blue velvet saw tooth edge that goes around the middle of the cushion. It is all hand sewn, a real work of art. It is worn but mellow and nice. It is 8" diameter and is 4" high. A nice surviving example of a Civil War era pin cushion.

Antique Japanese large onigawara roof tile end cap. This beautiful tile was made in the toukigawara method with a hollow interior. It once graced the roof of a large building, perhaps a temple or an important house. It has a raised Tomoe crest (mon) in the center which is surrounded by wonderfully three dimensional swirling clouds and topped with it's own roof. Meiji Period (1868-1912).
