This is a leaf from a design album. It shows the lower portion of a kimono with a design of pine needles and plum blossoms. Good condition.

This type of porcelain spoon was used in China as early as the Shang Dynasty, and predated chopsticks. Size: length 4" to 4 1/2". All in good condition overall. This is a design for a kimono with a leafing vine surrounding a lacquer calligraphy box with inkstone and brushes in tones of grays and black with only the calligraphy brushes having red and yellow handles. The grain of the woodblock shows through the background of the kimono. Printed on mulberry paper and probably a leaf from a design album. There is a stain above the upper right sleeve, and a repaired 2 inch tear at the top of the leaf. The paper has yellowed slightly.

Early Staffordshire porcelain saucer decorated with bright polychrome enamels and pink luster arranged in a very pretty wreath pattern. The body is very slightly molded into lobes along the edges.

This lovely clothes brush has a sterling top patterned with the classic Art Nouveau Swirling tresses and flowers. The brush is marked F & B for the Theo. W. Foster & Bro. Company of Providence RI. This company was incorporated under that name in 1898 and was among the largest manufacturers of jewelry & sterling silver vanity goods in the Art Nouveau period. The brush is 5 ½" X ¾" and dates from 1900-1910.
