Chinese late Qing to Republic period camphor wood trunk densely carved with relief lotus flowers. Incised brass circular front lock plate. There is a small separation in the wood at one of the front edges and a minor loss at one back corner revealing the tip of a tiny old nail (see closeup images)...

A high quality, larger pottery figure of a male haouse attendant, dating to Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD.).

The attendant is wearing a robe in green and yellow Sancai colors, and he caerries a teapot in front of his chest. He wears a hat shaped like the roof of a house - a beculiar feature. .

Nicely painted facial details with and a realistic expression.

An antique 2 section Kimono chest (Isho Tansu) made of rare solid Kuwa (Mulberry) and Kiri (Paulwonia) woods. All original bronze and iron hardware. Two sliding doors with beautiful scrolling frame behind which lies a lift-off door, small drawer and a split level shelf with hand carved bamboo-like details. Three side by side drawers and 5 full width drawers below.

The facial features on the mask are expertly rendered with a detailed nose with nostrils and a serene expression carved on the lips. This is a rare example that would have been incorporated into the cartonnage wrappings of the mummy. During this time the deceased was wrapped in a full cartonnage encasement, however the face was carved of wood and sewn int the cartonnage...

Rare smaller size sterling silver dish ring with slat-pierced sides, pierced foliate scroll work bands, and embossed with laurel leaf swags. In excellent condition, it measures diameter across base 4", diameter across top about 3 1/2", and height 2 3/8". Circa 1900.

A Very Rare/Fine Blue and White Bottle: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century The domed body with everted spout and slightly recessed foot, painted with bat and floral plants alternated on the body in under glaze blue, the spout applied with blue tinged white glaze overall. We believe it was made to commemorate either the Battle of the Nile (a significant English military battle of 1798) or the battle of Trafalgar (1805), a most significant English military battle still commemorated today in England on Trafalgar Day...

Terracotta female head of an Orans or Baubo figure. The broad nose is abraded and flat. The swung lips contrast with the white coat that used to be overpainted. The eyes are almost completely covered by the white pigment. The woman shows a broad forehead, curly hairdo and a stippled wreath over her head. The earlobes pierced to wear earrings.

A red and white overlay and marbled glass vase by Loetz, Bohemia. From the Carneol series, of square shape and decorated with a lace-like pattern in white enamel and gilt. Carneol glass was produced in 1888 and 1889. Height "4 / 10.5 cm. Condition: fine.

This is a finely carved Japanese netsuke depicting Fukurokuju, one of the Seven Gods of Fortune, the God of Wealth and Longevity, holding a turtle on his left hand and a staff on his right hand. A turtle, in Japanese culture, symbolizes longevity and happiness. Behind Fukurokuju there is a Karako holding a Buddhist Cintamani or wish-fulfilling Jewel. Signed Masatoshi on the bottom of the netsuke...

These dolls are a part of the Hina doll set displayed for the Japanese Girls Day, Hina Matsuri (Festival) in March. The day is also called Peach Festival. When the peach blossoms open in February to March by breaking through the snow, it is an announcement of the beginning of spring in Japan. The blossoms are very much associated with women’s strength and for this reason, along with their beauty, daintiness and softness, these are all desirable characters for women...

A George III Regency Period Satinwood Inlaid Mahogany Tea Caddy. Sarcophagus Form with Brass Rings on the Side and Top; the Top Ring with a Brass Fruit Basket design. It Stands on Four Brass Bun Feet, with dimensions of 11.5" wide x 5.25" deep x 6.5" high. There are Two Lidded Inserts Over the Inside Tea Compartments and a Mixing Bowl that is not believed to be original. Circa 1815, with Some Minor Inlay Missing (see pictures), otherwise in excellent condition.

A beautiful and very unusual bell shaped Chelsea cup featuring an angular scroll handle with flattened thumb rest and loose sprays of flowers and sprigs, the interior also with a flower spray. The bottom has the red anchor mark and the number 21.

The condition of this charming piece is excellent, with no chips, staining, paint loss, or restoration. There is a short in the making under glaze firing line just above the terminal at the bottom of the handle...

Measuring only 5.5 inches x 6.5 inches framed, this darling little pair of 19th century, American Folk Art, hand-colored lithographs depict two different homesteads in Macon County, Illinois.

One litho appears to be the residence of a “R. Timmons” and the other of a “S. Macon”. The frames are a latter addition, likely circa 1930-40’s acquired by an individual interesting in preserving these colorful and historic pieces of Folk Art...

19th century decent size Chinese export silver spoon with engraved decoration of blooming flowers. Excellent crisp work, in great condition, stamped with a Chinese hallmark on the back of the stem. Length 7.25 inches, weight 33.4 grams.
