Antique Japanese Buddhist Womb of the World Mandala Scroll Painting. Dated early 18th century with temple in Kyoto. Central figure of Buddha immediately surrounded by eight immortal attendants. Rows of attendants repeating on surface of painting. Painted in mineral colors and gold ink on silk. Mounted as a scroll with a light blue silk border and copper ends.

Unusual 19th century kagamibuta (“mirror lid”) netsuke with copper bowl and mixed metal top depicting a tiger on rocks with bamboo grass and a dragon holding a Precious Gem in flight among swirling clouds: the two appear ready to engage in a fight. Very nice pairing of the most powerful Zodiac animals, bronze disc with gilding, eyes of both beasts are inlaid with shakudo with its characteristic strong black color...

19th century boxwood netsuke of Thunder God Raiden standing on his drum that he tore open by beating it with a striker on the clouds. According to Japanese folklore by beating the drum Raiden creates thunder. The stretched leather part of the drum is lacquered in Negoro style: red lacquer over black, so as it wears the black starts showing. The bottom of the drum is carved as a seal, with a seal script reading HARUYOSHI (alternative reading is Shunko) in a reserve shaped like a mallet of Daikoku...

English Chippendale Mahogany Mirror, Looking Glass, 18th C, 29" high, 16" wide, 1 1/2" deep, with original glass and backboard. The carving is very simple and some veneer repairs on upper area.

The size of Screen: 70" Long x 24" High x 9/16" Thick, when the screen spread. Each panel 35" Long. Beautiful Japanese Byobu screen.. It is all hand painted on Japanese paper. The background where clouds area done in gold leaf works. The painting subject from Genpei Gassen. I pasted the subject below. The painting of each Samurai figures are well excuted. The screen is done from late Edo to early Meiji period, 1850-1870's...

A rare and beautifully built silver inlaid zitan wood tray with silver frame/base. The inlaid picture depicting four geese playing at a reed marsh. Late Qing Dynasty. Large 19th Century or earlier Chinese Tibetan thanka. Bordered with silk brocade, the thangka has a cloth backing In excellent antique condition, the thanka as pictured measures 31 inches across x 44" long. The actual thanka measures 20" across x 29" long.

This is quite the scrap book. The back and front are cloth covered in blue and white calico. The pages are also cloth with stitching around all the edges. The trade and advertising cards are glued down on both sides of the fabric. The pages are bound together by three holes and each page and tied with a yellow ribbon. There are 11 pages, 22 sides, and one 1/2 page that is original and not cut but just a 1/2 page with cards on both sides...

Inside 2 upper doors contains five(5) original pull out Oak trays which are completely removable for moving, and top frame also removable, total three(3) sections-top frame, top section with 2 doors and bottom section with 5 drawers...

Unusual Japanese Kiri wood stacking box, comprised of 9 shallow compartments for the storage of calligraphy implements. The edges of each compartment are reinforced with hand-forged iron plates. The lowermost compartment has a single pull out drawer with a kakute iron pull and lock.

Antique hardwood Japanese strong box with hand forged iron banding and hard mounts. Original finish and condition. The lid bears the mon or family crest of the Hori Clan.

Japanese dark lacquered Funa Tansu, or ship safe box with heavy hand-forged iron hardware and plates. The interior of the box holds six small drawers opened by kan (ring) pulls, one with a lock plate. The piece has a warabite handle for carrying on top.

A large rare Ming jar. The brown glaze is decorated with strings of dots going down the sides. Size: H. 58cm. W. 42cm. (H.22.8 inches. W.16.5 inches) Condition: No repairs,cracks or broken parts.

A collection of seven types of fruits including mango, persimmon, pomegranate and cherry, star fruits all finely rendered with leaves and branches, hand crafted in repousse silver with hyperealism. Fruit to be displayed with the wish for fertility as they are known for holding many seeds.

19th century netsuke of a puppy wearing a collar with a bell and lying on an old straw sandal. Wonderful quality carving - see its right front paw lifting a straw rope that it is about to chew, its chubby body and perfectly rendered texture of woven straw of the sandal. Signed KAIGYOKUSAI in rectangular reserve on the bottom for Masateru, whose more common signature is KAIGYOKU MADO MASATERU (Kaigyoku’s grandson, Masateru)...
