The surface of this black glazed bowl signed on the base Dohachi has been impressed all over with seals in a style known as In-chirashi. It comes in an ancient wooden box with ebony rim titled inside Dohachi Saku (Chirashi-in) Chawan, while outside a much-worn paper label reads In-chirashi Dohachi Saku Chawan. The original silk pouch, much deteriorated, is included, but no longer strong enough to hold the bowl...

A very nice and elaborate iron key of the Venethian openwork style, fitting for a casket or jewelry box, Venice, 15th.-16th. century.

An interesting version of this type with a complicated iron cut bow with an octagonal web motif and a spendid finial for a key-ring at the top. Nice piece with remnants of copper inlays in the bow and stem.

OLD ZORI SANDALS WOVEN WITH OLD WASHI PAPER

Made with the paper strings with recycled old paper from used account book or so, 19th - early 20th century, Japan. Stacked state: 25 x 10 x T 9 cm (9.84 x 3.93 x 3.54in). In unused deadstock condition (since must be thrown away as long as once used then inevitably broken as always)...

A large brooch of Chinese export silver made in filigree technique backing and embellished with enamelling and a very good carved red coral piece in the shape of a beautiful lady. Stamped: “Silver China” on the back side. Size: Diam 5 cm x 5 cm. Early 20th cent. around 1910/20. Condition: good with only some wear to enamel.

This pretty crystal clear Minerva aka Roman Medallion Early American Pattern Glass Milk Pitcher or Footed Creamer was made by The Boston Sandwich Glass Co., Sandwich, Mass, introduced in 1870. The mouth of this vase opens like the thickly petaled chrysanthemum flower over a body decorated in thin blue with a roiling landscape of lakes and trees dotted with pavilions. It is an excellent example of the Hirado tradition in the 19th century. The vase is 14 cm (5-1/2 inches) diameter,28.8 cm (11-1/2 inches) tall and is in excellent condition.
The story of Hirado porcelain begins with the Matsura clan, who ruled over the Hirado domain during the Edo period (1603-1868)...

Antique circa 1900 A.D. bone dagger from Papua New Guinea's Sepik River Province. The bone blade of tapering form with a pointed sharp tip is decorated with an incised pattern.

The dagger is topped with a hood crafted from meticulously woven fiber string, and it's further embellished with eight tassels made of a captivating mix of cassowary feathers, shells, and bone beads.

CONDITION: Good, well preserved. It shows signs of usage in all dagger parts with a dark, natural patina...

The decoration of cranes in flight, a symbol of fidelity and courage, among clouds, adorns the entire perimeter of this vase in enamels of different colors above crashing waves.
