A Chinese, black glazed, stem cup; Yuan dynasty. Elegantly potted; rising from it's slightly flared foot, to the U-shaped bowl with an everted rim. The iron-rich black glaze appears brown at the rim and above the foot, where it terminates. Diameter, 9.7cm. Condition; excellent. Rare porcelain vase with marbled decoration. The oxides are passed randomly to imitate marble.This type of decoration imitating stones is rare, the known examples are most often clumsily executed. Our vase is an exception because the imitation of marble is perfect both in the design of the veins and their color. An Early Nineteenth Century Hungarian Faience Jug, Possibly used for Wine. Pictures a Shepherd with a Dog and a Ram and Sheep. The Inscription "GAMBRIS ISTVAN 1810" is on either side of the shepherd's Head. Height; 12", weight 2.25 lbs. Minor glaze losses.

A finely painted sometsuke bowls decorated with alternating reserves of three leaping koi divided by a criss-cross ground or “nets” and a central motif of a Chinese landscape featuring a figure collecting fire wood with his head looking skyward. This is probably a representation of Ceng Shen (So Shin) collecting fire wood, a disciple of Confucius , who whilst looking at the moon suddenly became aware that his mother needed him, a popular Confucian parable of filial piety...

A group of three Staffordshire plates. The first a small (6 ½ inch diameter) pearlware plate with good handpainted roses and a solid colored border with lines and dots. The second plate (8 3/8 inches diameter) also pearlware handpainted with a border of small roses, leaves and ovals over two lines. The third a ceramic plate with a shaped edge (10 1/8 inches diameter) with a very bold free hand painted single Adam’s rose dominating most of the area. All are unmarked...

Three lobed shamrocks happily travel around the parameter of this circa 1900 brass sash buckle pin ornament with a faux hasp and early C catch. While these wear worn then on waist sashes to give the appearance of a buckle, their versatility allows one to wear them on any article of clothing.

This celadon jade carving of a vessel with lid is a late 19th or early 20th century product. The vessel is called a "ding;" 鼎 a "Taotie" 饕餮 mask appears on both sides of the vessel. It is 5 ½” high (with carved hard wood base is 6 ¾” high), 7 ¾” wide and 2” thick. A ding is an ancient Chinese cauldron with legs, a lid and two handles opposite each other. They were made in two shapes with round vessels having three legs and rectangular ones four...

This early 19th century lacquered wood depicts a boy performing a Shi Shi dance. It is 2 inches tall. It is signed ¡°Nisai.¡± Some color is worn off; but it is in good condition.

This is a 19th century, excellently hand-carved Kyoto School styled netsuke of a seated dog, in a protective posture, with its young puppy right in front of it. Delightful expression on their faces. Outstanding detail, Excellent form, wonderful hair work. Double inlaid eyes. Very nice two-tone patina. The spaces between the right and hind leg of the dog serve as natural himotoshi. Netsuke measures 0.70 inches (1.8cm) wide, 1.34 inches (3.4cm) long, and 1.72 inches (4.4cm) tall. Signed...

This is a large doll, probably dated from Meiji to Taisho period, modeling a maiden from the Genroku era (1688-1703). Genroku culture which was the beginning of uprising power of the merchants in the Osaka area was glamorous and quite a contrast to the stiff culture of the samurai. Partially green lipstick that is shown on this doll became fashionable at the time. Her hair style is called Taka (high) Shimada or Bunkin Taka-Shimada...

A Rare / Very Finely Molded Celadon Beaker: Korea, Koryo period, 12th Century, This is a finely molded with chrysanthemums amongst scrolling foliage and well potted deep bowl tapering to a short ring foot, applied overall rich celadon glaze except foot rim with spur marks. It is in very fine condition without any damage. Measures 4 1/2” x 1 1/2”h.

Chinese Faïence vase measuring 5” wide by 4.5” tall. Song dynasty was an imperial dynasty of China that began in 960 and lasted until 1279. The dynasty was founded by Emperor Taizu of Song following his usurpation of the throne of the Later Zhou, ending the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period.

16th Century Chinese Gilt Lacquered Bronze KwanYin Buddha with Multiple Arms

It is 6.6 inches (16.8 cm) tall by 6.3 inches (16 cm) wide. It is 1548 gram.

It is missing one arms and has broken fingers, missing hand held accessories, peeling of lacquer, rubbing of gilt, firing holes, oxidation, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Chinese elm wood square low table in a natural finish with two deep drawers each on two alternating sides. Brass hardware appears to be original. Late 19th century. 19 5/8"H x 31 3/4" square. There is an old narrow moon shaped burn on the top (see enlargement 3) and there are a few small separations in the wood on the top from shrinkage. This piece is from a Tucson collection and was purchased by expatriates to Taiwan in the 1980's.
