A lovely patinated silver box for betel Chewing, Burma or Lanna, 19th. century. High grade silver!

Low box for a betel-chewing ingridient, star and flower on the lid, on the sides zigzag pattern, the whole background covered with petal-like nubs. A beautifully incised goat on the bottom.
Condition: Good very fine, warm old patina.

The sign advertises the office of "James H. Groom. Dentist.", and remains in fine condition with rich, deep-toned, original patina and some very minor warping due to its many years of age. The lettering is actually impressed into the surface and is painted black...
19th century marine material ball shaped ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved in the round with a praying mantis crouching among leaves and plants including a chrysanthemum and several hozuki (Chinese lantern fruit), central hole with terminals surrounded by carved florets. Wonderful carving, excellent staining, beautiful wear and warm patina. Height 5/8 inches.
This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Ernst Teichert Dresden around 1884. The mark is blue under glaze. The plate has a diameter of 9 3/4 inches. There is a 1 3/4 inch reticulated border around the plate. The center has a hand painted scene of lovers in a garden. It is surrounded by a cobalt blue border. Elaborate gilding frames the painted scene. The pierced border has panels with flowers alternating with scrolled decorations. It is all outlined with gold...

This is a simple blue and white porcelain hand made spoon from 19th century China. It measures roughly 9.5 cm and is in good condition but may have minor chips. Makes a great conversation piece or decorative accent. I have several available. This one has a hand applied, post glaze character on the underside that likely was inscribed by the original owner.
This perfume stand or caddy was produced in France in the 1870s. The mark on the Longwy insert is partially covered but may be from 1815 to 1835. The metal stand is 8 ¾ inches high and the diameter is inches.
The metal is dore gilded. There are three hand cut crystal bottles with stoppers. A Longwy ceramic dish or tray was used as an insert for the stand. It gives the stand a Persian look...

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur or KPM in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The porcelain body has molded designs in high relief that are accentuated by the gilding and hand painting. Floral swags and knots of flowers are scattered around the surface. German Nymphenburg Royal Porcelain Cake Stand or compote, pure white clean porcelain with beautifully low relief laid out design and open work on the wide molded fluted rim, 3 3/4" high, 8 1/4" diameter-top, 4"-5" wide-bottom, with reticulated Rococo style between Pine Cone, supported by four(4) shaped feet and molded raised design stem. An antique Japanese Sakata Funa Tansu (ship captain's safe) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. Large security door lifts out to reveal two large drawers where ship valuables were stored and kept safe from pirates and thieves. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Mokko style handles and the Pine and Bamboo incised lock plate.
