The design of this mirror has not entirely escaped the conventions of earlier Kagami-e (Long handled Mirrors) of the late Muromachi –Momoyama era, which are essentially mirrors of conventional round form retaining a central boss to which a handle has been attached.
In this example the Cranes are arranged directly opposite each other, their beaks meeting with that of the kame, to create a T form; a convention that appears in the late 16th century...
Shamanic face mask of oval shape, with minimalistic features. Wood, traces of black resin under the nose for attachment of a mustache made of animal hair (now missing). Nice dark patina. Nepal, early 19th century, probably earlier. Height: 9 1/2" (24 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Old accidents and chips, otherwise good condition.

The amulet polished smooth in an nice green stone rectangular with a pierced handle and a piercing in the middle as well. The seals engraved with criss-cross and animals.

This is not my area of specialty so I will attempt a best description. The smoking pipe is of Meerschaum, (for the German "sea foam"), actually the mineral sepiolite. Since the 1720's, the mineral, found mostly in Turkey, has been used in the fashioning of ornately carved smoking pipes. The mineral has been described as soft enough to carve yet hard enough to polish. The fad for such smoking implements reached a peak in Victorian times...
A nicely decorated document box featuring red and black grain painting, the edges with yellow and green striping.
The box is 13 1/4 inches in length, 7 1/4 inches in depth, and 6 1/2 inches tall. Overall condition is excellent, with no cracks or breaks, and virtually all of the original, unrestored paint is present. The lock and hinges are original and in fine shape. There is the normal amount of wear along some of the box edges.
Spanish colonial era Philippine Santo, figure of Saint Antonio Abad, estimated to be from mid-19th century, on a base (of perhaps different vintage) 13 inches including base.
A very early and rare massive bronze figure of a seated deity, probably Sri Devi / Lakshmi, holding implements and tall headdress and a breast band around her sizable attributes, South Indian, perhaps Tamil Nadu, probably pre 17th. century!

Condition: Choice Very fine, lovely old patina, with a fine brown and green colours.

This is a 19th century Chinese brush holder made of Huanghuali. It is a rare piece because of its size. It measures 8 ½ inches in diameter and 8 inches tall. It is in excellent condition.
This porcelain loving cup was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby in 1911. There is a date cipher that indicates this year. The cup is 4 1/2 inches high and is 5 inches across the handles. It is made of fine, white bone china. It has delicate handles and a pedestal base. The cup is beautifully hand painted with garlands of tiny roses and forget-me-nots. There is heavy raised gilding around the border of the cup, on the handles, and on the foot.
Condition: Excellent

A beautiful, hand-painted creamer and sugar set in ornate Wilcox quadruple-plated silver holders. Both pieces of glass are decorated with flowers, butterflies, etc. The metallic holders have superb wrap-around decor. The creamer is 5 1/4 inches wide and 4 3/8 inches high, while the sugar container is 4 1/2 inches wide and 4 1/4 inches high. Except for a rim-chip in the sugar container (see last picture - hidden with lid in place), the pieces are in good condition. Polished pontils...
This is the fifth piece of the rare collection of Song Dynasty fluted cups. Grey stoneware body covered with a opaque white glaze with fine crackle to above the foot-rim. Where exposed in the firing the body has turned reddish.

A hand woven Chinese kossu tapestry with gold foiled tread accents depicting a day of leisure in Chinese life. A scholar is studying in a pavilion, 2 people are walking by a fence, and 2 men are fishing. The background is blue and the color is even throughout. Presently, it is out of frame.
