A small porcelain iron red overglaze water coup decorated with dragons set among scrolling clouds. The iron red style was developed in the Ming dynasty and in the Qing various styles were expanded. Additionally, with the continuity of the literati tradition, various objects were being produced and one was the water coup which is essential in producing ink for calligraphy. The water coup contains an inscription reading Da qing xiangfeng nian xin. (1851-1861). Size: height 2.25" diameter 2.8"

2 belt buckles (or fibulae) in cast bronze and hot-gilded with mercury. Decorated in relief with bats and clouds on an engraved amati background. In the center are set white jade plates cut in the shape of stylized bats. Two half-pearls are set on the hooks, as they are very worn it is difficult to identify the material, probably reddish translucent stone but perhaps glass paste? Chinese work from the beginning of the Qing period, end of the 17th or beginning of the 18th century...

This interesting piece is from the Khmer Culture of Southeast Asia, dating to circa the 12th century AD. This piece has three individual parts that all fit together snugly and appear to be original as a set. There does appear to be a repair to one of the handles but both handles are still present. The diameter of the piece is a little over 15.5 cm and the weight of the entire set is 617 gram. This is quite an unusual set and would enhance any antiquities collection.

A very attractive tall pottery figure of a standing female or deity, Magna Grecia, ca. 3rd. century BC.

The figure is standing with a slight bend in her left knee and one arm above her head perhaps correcting her large headress. She is veiled and clad in elegant garments.

Condition: Superb for type, intact with remnants of white pigments.

This antique Korean ink stone was carved from a thick piece of black stone, and is 7.25 inches (18 cm) x 11 inches (28cm) x 3 inches (7.6 cm) high. It weights about 14 lbs. The lid is deeply carved with a swirling dragon. The base of the stone has a grinding surface that slopes to a deep inkwell for collecting the liquid ink. The border of the base is carved with a simple repeat decoration.

One corner of the lid has a chip with most of the loss on the underside...
