circular shape with a swirl pattern, C-shape brass handle and ball shape lock,
yellow brass ball pull down for lock and pull up for unlock, set on three small brass ball feet in the base...

A rare antique Japanese Kyushu Choba Tansu (merchant chest from Kyushu island) made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. The frame of the chest was made using Suginoki wood measuring a very thick 1 1/ 8". Constructed with straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wooden nails. It has 5 drawers and a pair of hinged doors that open to a spacious storage area with a split level shelf. All original hand forged iron hardware...

Chinese export barrel shaped tankard attractively painted with a pair of deer in a landscape. Handle with a heart shaped terminal. C1770/80. Ht. 5 1/4" (13.3cm). Condition; perfect, no cracks, chips or restoration.
A finely decorated blue and white bowl, painted in Kangxi/Yongzheng style depicting numerous (mostly zodiac) animals in an imaginary dreamlike landscape. The four character mark on the base reads "precious object copying antiques" and this item was probably made during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Condition - there is a restored rim chip (top left - enlargement 12) and two restored hairlines. There is also a glaze bubble and two small rim chips (enlargement 10)...
Late Edo (1603-1868) Period Shino Chawan with all highlights of the Japanese aesthetics of wabi sabi. It is in perfect antique condition and comes with its original wooden box, a cloth bag (shifuku) and the attestation of a tea master inside.

Antique Japanese choba tansu (merchant's chest) with negoro lacquer finish (distressed red and black lacquer). Made of sugi (cryptomeria) wood. This chest has 10 drawers of various sizes and a compartment opened by sliding panels with one interior shelf. Extensive iron hardware includes round lock plates and warabite shaped drawer pulls. From the Matsumoto area of Japan.

Japanese Blue and White Transfer ware Porcelain Square cut corner deep Platter, 12" square, 1 1/2" high, pine tree, mountain and river design in the center, and two different shade of transfer blue design of trees, foliage and butterflies on the wide border. One shallow flake chip 3/4" wide underneath the rim and some old frits on the corner of the dish, and scratches in the glaze on top of the dish.

This plate features an underglaze decoration of an animal and foliate motif with patterns that run along its exterior rim. The back of the plate is shaped with a rounded cavetto that flares out to its mouth with kiln grit adhering to its foot rim...
This matching pair of Nayarit gold and silver spiral pendants were found together. The gold is 22K and hand cut, an amazing feat for today's jeweler and an unknown process with ancient tools. They are paper thin and spring-like, although lay flat. They are wearable. This is very desirable universal iconography. Purchased from the famous Lynn Langdon collection.
