Finely carved deer antler netsuke of Hotei with, typically, his large bag draped over his shoulder; white metal has been inlaid into the top section of the piece, possibly silver; good condition

Chinese hardstone lidded vase carved with scrolling dragon head handles and freely moving rings. The lid has a pointed finial with natural black pebble coloration. The foot of the container is slightly flared and recessed. The natural pink and grey tones of the stone give the appearance of heavenly clouds, which are traditional motifs associated with dragons.

Dimensions: 3 3/4" x 2 1/2" x 7" H

A fine and unusual French lame silk shawl. Black shawls are considerably more common than the cream and silver of this example. Multicolored flowers at the corners and a silver medallion in the center combine in this striking design, which is enhanced by the silk ombre fringe on all sides.

The shawl is in excellent condition, with no holes, tears, stains, or missing fringe. There are some creases which can be removed with care. The size is 48" on all sides, with 18" fringes.

Width approximately 16 cm (across the handles). In good condition.

An antique Japanese Isho Tansu (kimono storage chest) made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze hardware and Oxblood red Urushi lacquer finish. Drawer lock plates have an unusual stylized insect-like incised design with fine stimple work accents and handles in the Warabite style. True dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails were used in the making of this chest.

An antique Japanese Kotansu (personal storage chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Warabite handles with custom added matching iron base. Features flush side handles and 5 drawers of varying sizes for organization and storage.

Splendid Chinese lacquered stand with inlaid views of scholarly figures within a view of a pavilion. Two legged stand with mosaic-like inlay done with maroon colored lacquer. Bottom section has linen cloth covering used for the base for lacquered pieces. Age: 19th century. Size: Length: 13.75" Width: 9.25" Height: 16.1"

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by a Paris Porcelain decorator circa 1800. It is unmarked but there are some incised marks in the porcelain that you often find with Paris pieces. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/8 inches and it is 1 1/2 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high. The set is decorated in the Sevres style. It has a band of pink and aqua with borders of leaves, berries and gilded flowers...

Chinese Eastern Han Dynasty Glazed Pottery Jar (AD 25 - 220)

This pottery jar of "hu" form was made during the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25 - 220) and comes from Shaanxi province in the northwest of China. It is made from a reddish pottery and has simple incised decorative bands surrounding the jar just above its waist. It is coated in an attractive orange/amber glaze, the shade of which varies slightly according to the thickness of the glaze...

A rare antique Japanese merchant chest (Choba Tansu). All original hand forged iron hardware including the Kakute style handles and the full moon lock plates. Entire exterior of the tansu is Keyaki (Zelkova) with drawer backs made of Kiri (Paulownia) woods. 16 total drawers for merchant storage of valuables. Each side has two sets of handles, one for long distance carrying and one for room placement...

This interesting and finely carved Japanese ivory okimono is a mid-19th century product. It is 4 7/8” high, 2 3/8” wide and 1 ¼” thick. It depicts one adult and two youngsters engaged in the pastime of catching bugs. One boy, on the back of the adult, waves a fly swatter in his left hand while his right hand grabs at a dragonfly over his head that is trying to escape. The second boy stands next to them straining to hold up the long insect-catching bamboo pole...

An antique Japanese kuruma tansu coming from the Mikuni region. The tansu is fitted with iron fittings to retain the condition of the tansu and to protect the vulnerable areas of the chest. The tansu has two wooden bars to lock the drawers of the chest. The chest is made from keyaki wood. Age: 19th century. Size: height 48" width 28.75" length 53.25"
