Small Satsuma earthenware incense burner in the shape of a cricket cage. Technically complex openwork work with results that are still uncertain, the fine bars of the cage have survived the test of fire without damage, then that of handling for more than 100 years. Today the object is in excellent condition. Below the mark of the Satsuma and the name Hattori who was one of the best ceramic painters of his time., allowing a precise dating. We can, on request, find out who it is. Height 14cm.

This is dyed with an artistic portrait of a lion and Katazome of the peony pattern and a brown plain fabric. There is small holes and damage ,thin stains. However, the condition is good generally. 19th century Edo period Japanese kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with relief depiction of Benten seated on a throne floating on a cloud and accompanied by 3 attendants. Benten is the only female among the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, that of learning, speech and music. Wonderful crisp metalwork, beautiful gold and silver inlays, in great condition. A lovely patinated silver box for betel Chewing, Burma or Lanna, 19th. century. High grade silver!

Height 6,5cm, ø 12,5cm; weighing 166g.

Low box for a betel-chewing ingridient, star and flower on the lid, on the sides zigzag pattern, the whole background covered with petal-like nubs. A beautifully incised goat on the bottom.

Condition: Good very fine, warm old patina.
