Hand painted in dark underglaze blue with a serrated rim this large bowl is soft paste porcelain. The decoration of a Chinese arrangement of flowers and twining plants is typical of Tournai. Height 4.5 inches (11 cm) and 11 inches (28 cm) diameter. Late 18th century.

Condition: no chips, cracks or repairs. Some scratches to the interior of the bowl and small flaw in the body of the bowl.

This style of decoration was popular at the time and still looks excellent today.

The seal is carved in rock-crystal and is very attractive, Sasanian, ca. 3rd.-6th. century AD.

The base of this hemispheric seal is engraved with a firealter that gives a very high relief impression in wax.

Size: 16 mm. wide.

Condition: Very fine and intact.

Victorian Classical sterling silver tray. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Solid oval well with curved sides. Shoulder wide with chased flowers, scrolls, and open diaper in scrolled cartouches. Rim has applied leafing scrolls, flowerheads, and scallop shells. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 11239 (first produced in 1892), and director’s letter T (1892-1902). Very good condition.

Late Meiji period (1890s to 1912) Japanese wooden kushi (hair comb) with black and gold lacquer decoration of wisteria branches with flowers and tendrils, design continuing onto the back. Beautifully made out of wood with dense texture allowing for very fine teeth, superb fine lacquering, wonderful work in Japanese taste, in excellent condition. Length 4.15 inches.

The outside of this antique perfume bottle, from Afghanistan, is covered with silver metal which has a detailed, etched and fire polished design. The bottom of the bottle reveals it lapis lazuli interior liner...bottle is approximately 4 inches tall

A massive and exceptional early European Pewter Stein, Hamburg, Germany, dated 1665.

Profusely decorated over the entire surface with two soldiers, one holding a sword, the other soldier a helbard, on either side of a Free Masons symbol of crossed tools under an elaborate crown. Facial masks and Guild symbols below. The lid beautifully engraved with a German text, reading BIS BRÜDERLICE EINGIKEIT 1665. A tankard probably made as a memorial of the founding of the Guild...

Chinese Yixing teapot . 18 cm wide, 8,5 cm high. Good conditions.

This is Japanese shallow bowl from the great porcelain factory, Fukagawa. It is beautifully decorated throughout with an intense boarder of hand painting and gold work on the scalloped edge. It is in excellent condition. The bowl measures 9 3/4 across and is 2 inches deep.

A Ming Dynasty Hongwu period ( 1368 - 1398 ) porcelain dish with underglaze blue decoration and a biscuit fish to the center. Jingdezhen ware.Diameter : 12,5 cm. Condition : Perfect with no chip or crack. Nice glaze condition. A burst bubble to the biscuit fish which can be seen on the enlargements.

A Chinese Yixing Teapot. Height approximately 5.4 cm. In good condition.

A beautifully sculpted incense burner in the shape of a nesting crane dating from the 19th to opening of the 20th century, Late Edo to Meiji period). It comes enclosed in an age darkened kiri-wood collectors box. It is 12.5 x 24 x 16 cm (5 x 9-1/2 x 6 inches). Although not altogether clear there appears to be a possible old repair to the back of the head.

An antique Japanese 2 part Usubata in bronze featuring a Minogame (age old turtle) base. Mounted to the shell is a flanged cloud rendering with four terminating columns that undulates to a removable wide rim water receptacle. Artist signed at the base of the receptacle. Beautiful craftsmanship including the fine stimple work to the underside of the turtle.

In Japan, the turtle is a good luck animal symbolizing 10,000 years of long life...

Kangxi period, 1700s / 1800s

The lid is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a depiction of Liu Bing, the founder of the Han Dynasty, attacking a snake, which was considered to be an omen predicting the founding of the Han Dynasty. This particular scene, probably from a woodblock printed book illustration, is seen from time to time on Shunzhi Period – early Kangxi transitional wares. A Chinese Blue White Vase, 18th/19th century. Height approximately 45.5 cm. Diameter approximately 38.5 cm. There are few chips on the base. In good condition.

Japanese ikebana (flower basket) used in tradition ikebana flower displays. Beautifully natural finish of split bamboo and gnarled wisteria branch each twisting and blending into a full moon. Condition is very good. Includes copper insert (may allow to be used for flowers).

Antique Chinese porcelain water coupe in the form of a pine branch. Whimsically sculpted with a gibbon hanging from it's handle. Glazed a lovely mauve color on the outside and a white glaze inside. Underside has Wang Bing Rong mark in a raised cartouche. Wang Bing Rong (1840-1900) specialized in carved decoration on porcelain and was active during the Tongzhi to Gunagxu Period.
