Fine Japanese mixed metal and wood box; the top is inlaid iron with Komai style gold decoration of a simple Japanese dwelling with a figure in the distance; the box itself is very well constructed and in wonderful condition

Antique Japanese delicately carved horn guardian figure with bell in his mouth and holding a large object, 19th Century period. Size; Length and height of carving is 1 1/2 inches, fair condition with age cracks.

This is indigo dye thick of the Edo era cotton tsutsugaki noren. It is made of hand-spun and hand-woven and natural indigo dyed cotton. The neighboring brown can be dyed in persimmon juice. It has a few stains. However, it does not stand out. It is in state that there is not damage and is very good. I recommend this to collection of you. size:135cm x 94cm (53.1" x 37")

A round shaped silver lingam box (ayigalu or shivadhara) with its original chain. A neck amulet once worn by a wealthier lay member of the Lingayat sect in South India. Markings. Here without jangama lingam. Condition: traces of usage. Dimension: amulet: c. 6 cm wide x 4.1 cm high, chain: total length: 54 cm, weight total: 97 g.

This is a northern Song dynasty green glazed bowl. It stands on a foot rim with a recess base exposing the light buff colour stoneware and then extending upwards with a C-shaped rounded body with a rounded rim like a lip. On the cavetto, it is incised with four bud of swirling flowers with lightly combed designed in between and the centre of the bowl.

The bowl is in good condition with the exception of minute abrasion and glaze fritting...

Early 19th century boxwood netsuke of a man with a horn on his head, bent under the weight of a richly dressed woman on his back. The subject of the netsuke is Ikkaku Sennin (single horn Sage) carrying princess Sendarama on his back - according to Japanese legend, he grew angry with the Rain Dragons and sealed them away in a cave, causing a drought. Beautiful Indian princess was sent to tempt him and when he could not hold on to his chastity vow, he lost his magical powers, and the rain returned...

This middle or late 18th century Japanese wood netsuke is 3 ¼ inches tall, 1 inch wide and ¾ inch thick. It was carved from unknown softwood and not signed. It depicts a famous Chinese historical character GUAN YU. His right hand is holding a weapon (long handled knife) and his left hand is holding a book called ¡°Spring-Autumn Annals¡±. It is in great condition.

This porcelain cabinet plate was produced in England by Mintons in the 1870s. It has hand painted numerals on the back. It measures 9” in diameter. It has an entwined, reticulated border. The plate is hand painted in raised, metallic enamels. Two birds are perched on branches of gold and platinum cherry blossoms. The center of the plate is painted in celeste blue. The reticulated border is accented with gold...

A pair of very detailed molded porcelain figures of standing pigeons. The glaze is slightly blue/green. On close examination it is clear that though they were made from the same mold, the details of the lines in the feathers, breasts and the bases were done by hand. A slight tint of orange shows through thin spots in the glaze on the bases. They are an identical pair rather than an opposing pair. Height 6 7/8 Inches (17.5 cm), length 6 5/8 inches (17 cm), width 3 inches (7.5 cm)...

A finely crafted bust of woman with delicate, feminine features, executed in white Italian marble, resting upon plinth. Condition is good though some accumulated soiling, a broken corner of rear of plinth, and slight superficial break in surface around the neck. Probably early 20th C. Dimension: 7 1/2" h

Outstanding sterling silver soup ladle in a repousse pattern. The design is a very finely worked pattern of roses and other flowers and foliage. The bowl is deeply lobed and has a scalloped edge. The pattern is similar to Kirk’s “Repousse”, but not identical. The back is marked “Sterling” but is not marked with a maker’s name (a frequent practice until around 1910)...

Late Meiji to early Taisho (1890s to 1920) lacquered wood netsuke representing a Gigaku theater mask of Baramon - a brahmin of the priestly Indian caste. Rather rare mask, superb quality wonderfully expressive face, lighter wood (probably ichii - Japanese yew wood), excellent use of silvery lacquer. Height 2 1/8 inches.

Wooden Buddha subduing Mara, red and gold patina, Northern Thailand, good condition, size: H. 35cm x W. 12.5 cm x D. 10.5 cm

This 11 piece dessert plate set was produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges between 1876 and 1886. They have double markings indicating this period. The set consists of one serving plate and 10 smaller plates. The large plate is 10 inches across the handles and the small dishes are 7 1/4 inches in diameter. The serving plate has pierced handles. Each piece has an apricot colored band around the rim. The decoration is a Japanese inspired transfer print that is hand colored...

The mid 19th century carved nut (tagua) netsuke is 1 ¾” long, 1 ¼” wide and 1 3/8” thick. It depicts a Shi Shi mask and an old man emerging from a cloth bag. There is an artist’s signature on the side. Aside from a few hair line cracks, it is in excellent condition.

Description: Fine antique Persian copper bowl, late Quajar period, a band of engraved Persian poem from poet Hafez fallowed by geometrical design. On the base a horse in sitting position with a bird with open wings on the horse's back. This type of bowls was carried by people so every individual had his own bowl and was used for drinking water or wine. Measurements: 1 inches high and 3 3/8 inches in diameter in good condition. Two very rare Ko-imari rice bowls from the Genroku period. C. 1690-1710. These are just gorgeous, the bottoms are painted in the chevron pattern, and various geometrical patterns of roundels with honey comb patterns throughout. Two dragons adorn either side of each cup and each surrounded with colors of iron red and green enamels with gold gilt accents. Each bowl and cover are in perfect condition with very little wear to the enamels, almost non-existant...
