Tall Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Vase / Jar (Feng Ping)

This attractively-shaped pottery jar was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is relatively highly-fired and has been made from flat slabs of pottery that have been luted together in imitation of an archaic bronze vessel. Large Chinese Neolithic Pottery Jar - Siwa Culture (c. 1350 BC)

This large and impressive pottery jar dates to the Siwa culture (c. 1350 BC). It has a relatively small flat base and a wide saddle-shaped mouth. There are two loop handles that join the shoulder to the rim. The surface colour of the pottery has interesting variations in places, from an attractive deep orange to grey, a result of uneven conditions during the firing process...

A fine celadon dish with lotus shaped and covered overall with dark green glazed. Very good condition, no any chip, no any crack and free from any restoration. Southern Song Dynasty Longquan ware. Diameter: 16,8 cm.

A set of Burmese amulets in lacquered wood and gilded with gold leaf.
It is believed that this type of statuette had special powers due to the paste made from sacred ashes and medicinal herbs, which was inserted into the hole in the base of the statuette and carried by healers.

Antique Chinese peach silk ladies robe with blue and gold embroidery. Wonderfully embroidered butterflies, phoenixes and fans in gold. Peony flowers embroidered in shades of blue and white. Detail on upper back with spider. Measures 47" x 29". Overall good condition. The embroidery is in excellent condition, the border slightly frayed. Late 19th c.

Lohan in Chinese porcelain covered with "famille verte" enamels.The deity is represented standing holding a flowers basket in his hand, it is probably Lan Caihe, one of the 8 Taoist immortals otherwise known as the 8 Baxian. The dress is decorated with flowers, butterflies and clouds in green, yellow and manganese enamels on a cream background. Hairs and details in black enamel. Good condition except a very little chip. No repair or gluing. China Qing dynasty 19th century...

18th century netsuke of sennin (Chinese sage) standing with one foot raised, clad in tiger skin skirt and holding in his hands tassels that support a large woven straw hat on his back. Strong early piece with superb smiling face, beautiful flow to the lines of his skirt. Wonderful wear to the surface from more than 200 years of handling, beautiful yellow patina turning light honey color on the back from wear against the silk of kimono, old age lines...

Fabulous Early Showa Period Ca. 1930 'Rutsubo" ceramic crucible for melting bronzes. Repeated firings at extremely high temperatures to melt bronze alloys has produced the most remakable art deco glazes on the outside. Great condition. 33cm tall x 27cm in diameter. Ask for shipping quote.

Edwardian sterling silver porringer. Made by William B. Kerr in Newark, ca 1910. Round with gently upward tapering sides and solid shaped handle. Rectilinear frames with etched scenes of girl kneeling in prayer, feasting from a fruit platter, and seated at table with steaming pot and bowl of porridge. With text propounding dubious causality: “Every night / my prayers I say, / And get my dinner / every day;” and “And every day / that I’ve been good, / I get an orange / after food”...
