This Sui Dynasty (581~618) yellow burial horse is 10 1/2” high, 11 ¾” long and 5 ¾” wide. It depicts a battle horse wearing a leather saddle and a draped saddle cloth. Aside from an old repair on the tail and part of the neck, it is in great condition.

Very fine early Staffordshire child's cup decorated with a pair of colorful roosters. The design was hand-colored over a rudimentary sepia-colored transfer. The pearlware glaze has a wonderful lustre. The bottom edge of the cup is decorated with a molded border.

Antique Japanese doll, a head of a samurai festival ningyo(doll), rare find; dashi (festival float) ningyo or Kiku festival doll. Handsome hexagonal faceted glass paperweight featuring a detailed frost intaglio of a lion pressed into the base. The New England Glass Company made several different types of intaglio paperweights, and this piece is possibly an example of the company's work.

Nice porcelain footed mug with a transfer print entitled "Sands & Railway Station Ramsgate--A Present From Ramsgate". The scene shows the railway station in the background with bathers in the foreground. Queen Victoria lived in Ramsgate for a time before ascending the throne. After the railway came to the shore, Ramsgate became a very popular tourist destination. The rim is decorated with a gilt band.

Extremely rare early Staffordshire pearlware pot decorated with three hand-colored transfer prints of King William III at the Battle of the Boyne. This was one of the earliest of the Staffordshire transfer patterns celebrating the Kings and Queens of England. This design is sometimes captioned "No Surrender" and depicts King William defeating the ousted James II and the French troops who were trying to restore England to Catholic control...

Gorgeous sterling silver berry spoon in Durgin's 1891 "Watteau" pattern. The rococo design of the handle is wonderful on its own, but when combined with the decoration of the bowl, it's stunning! The back is hallmarked by Durgin.

This folk weaving loom for straw mats, ropes, and the like, was a common feature in rural Japanese homes. Made of heavy keyaki wood frame and base, this "mushirobata oriki" also has a roughly hewn top crosspiece with a natural curve. H. 131cm(51.5") x W. 147cm(58") x D.(base) 46cm(18"). Late Edo to Early Meiji Era.

Indigo dyed cotton wrapping cloth, furoshiki, from late Meiji Era. The family crest stencil dyed (katazome) into the corner is "anzu-botan" (apricot-peony). L.133cm (52.25") x W.130cm (51").

Imari ware soba choko (soba noodle dipping cup) from the mid-late Edo period (1600-1868.) Porcelain with underglaze cobalt blue painting of "takenoko" bamboo shoot pattern. H.5.5cm(2.17") x Dia.7.5cm(2.95"). A crack in the rim has been repaired using synthetic gold and lacquer. Soba choko were originally used for small morsels of food much like the mukozuke is used in today's Japanese place setting...

A Royal Worcester blue and green floral design pedestal cake stand with the Worcester year date mark for 1913. This antique 8-1/2" diameter English bone china small cake stand is 1-3/4" tall. The design consists of green flowers with blue leaves and tendrils in a blue traditional Asian square plant-pot. It has an inner border-design, also in green. It also has a British registry number of 546206, indicating the design was registered in in Britain in 1909. Replacements.com calls this design RW7...

The Zuishin dolls are a part of the Hina Ningyo doll set for Hina Matsuri, the Girl’s Day Festival in Japan. Though they are commonly called Daijin minister dolls, they are the figures of Toneri, the imperial guardsmen and escorts from the Heian period (794-1185).

It was said that the Zuishin dolls were already seen (created and added to the Imperial Hina couple) in Kyoto during the Meiwa era (1764-1772) while the musician dolls were created in Edo (current Tokyo) at the same time...

Lovely sterling silver demitasse spoon with a floral finial decorated in plique-a-jour enamels in five shades. The stained glass effect is very nice. The bowl is engraved "Irene". The spoon retains its original gilding. The back is fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1916.
