The shape and underglaze blue decorations of this vase are all taken from archiac bronze work, while the famille rose "boys at play" images evoke Qianlong imperial wares...

-Hopi Wood Polychrome Kachina Doll -Bison Maiden Kachina Doll -Mosairu Kachina Buffalo Girl -Height: 9 1/4 inches -C.1920 - The Buffalo Dance my be given during the interval between the Soyal or Solistice Ceremony and the Powamu or Bean Dance. Usually, two girls and two boys dance as Buffalo and Buffalo Girl accompanied by a large male chorus. It is one of the dances most frequently seen off reservation.

Antique Chinese Scroll made of ink and mineral colors on paper. Story illustrates Dung Fang Shuo, the daoist sage, and auspicious symbols carrying the peach of immortality, with the bat of longevity flying overhead. Two seals are displayed. First seal reading, "Li Guang Jin yin", second seal is the studio seal. Artist's name is Li, Guang Jin from the studio Fu Qing. Tibetan bronze gilt statue of Kubera, known as the "Lord of Wealth and the North". He originates from Hindu mythology but is also recognized in Buddhism and Jainism. He holds a mongoose as a symbol of his victory over the Nagas, snakelike deities and guardians over treasures. He sits upon the back of a lionlike creature and has an arch of flames with gilt tips behind him. The jewels on his crown and around his neck are dotted with blue and red enamel. Chinese porcelain planter hand painted by Huang Ming Guang in 1919. This four sided planter has calligraphy on two sides; a bird in flowers and a landscape are on other two sides. Some color has rubbed off and there are small chips on the rim. It is in fairly good condition. H: 4 ¼ inches, W: 4 inches

This is an old mitsuore ningyo (triple jointed doll) from the Meiji period (1868-1912) or possibly earlier (late Edo period). The body of this doll was made with the Ikkanbari method. In this method, layers of washi (Japanese paper) were glued (lacquered) together over a wooden mold to form the shape of the body parts. It was then coated with layers of gofun, the mixture of ground oyster shells and animal glue...

Adorable original Antique Chinese painting of cat playing in a scenic setting. Water Lillys and Frog are sprawled in water, with a dune behind cat, and flower. This painting is both peaceful and playful . Famous Beijing artist, Cao, Ke Jia painted the cat. Rest of painting was done by Wang, Rong. Painting is sold in a dark wood frame. Lovely sterling silver cream or sauce ladle with a gilt, lobed bowl featuring a floral display. Designed by the Sterling Silver Manufacturing Company of Providence, RI, in 1908.

These 3 small oil lamps were brought back to the US by a Baptist missionary who lived and traveled extensively throughout China. Oil lamps like these were used for light source extensively throughout rural China by poor peasants. Simply made, presumed cut from scraps of tin and soldered into shape.. the lids come off for filling with oil and some original home made wicks remain in place. The tallest is 5 inches high...

Antique Chinese cloisonne box decorated with a beautiful floral pattern of chrysanthemums, peonies, and other flowers. The lid of the box is hinged, it has an auspicious symbol in the middle of the box. The box is supported by four small round metal feet, the underside is sky blue. The interior of the box is lined with wood and has two compartments. Republic Period (Circa 1912) It measures 5.75" deep 4" tall 9.25" wide.
