A Chinese box of grey celadon jade and rectangular shape with rounded corners. The body is very thinly carved , resembling the Mughal manner and the cover is delicately incised with a bird in a tree. Elegant in its simplicity and precision, it typifies the 18 C. lapidary art on small jade objects. Age: 18 C. size: 2 7/10 inches x 1 7/10 inches x 3/5 inch high when closed. This porcelain bowl was produced in Germany by Donath Dresden in the 1890s. It measures 10 1/2 inches long, 7 inches high and 6 inches wide. There are reticulated borders around the edge of the bowl and around the edge of the foot. It is elaborately decorated with brilliantly colored sprays of hand painted flowers. The inside of the bowl is decorated as well. The reticulated borders are outlined with fancy gilding. The rims are trimmed with gold...

This porcelain bowl was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer in the 1890s. The bowl is 13 inches from handle to handle, 6 inches high and 8 inches wide. The porcelain is of the highest quality and is very substantial in weight. The footed bowl has a classic style using only gold trim on the white, reticulated porcelain for decoration. It is simple and very tasteful, suitable for almost any décor.

A small brush holder made of Nanmu (Phoebe zhennan). Nanmu was very valuable in Ming and Qing Dynasty, only the royal family could use it. This brush holder was made in late Qing Dynasty or early Republic period. It is in good condition, with one age crack (1-5/8" long) from the bottom up. Diameter: 4-1/8"; height: 4-1/2".

Pair of Chinese Southern Song dynasty qingbai (yingqing) porcelain glazed funerary jars with short rounded body decorated on the base of the long neck with a relief stringy dragon striding above seven moulded applied human figures standing side by side around the circumference. Bird form finials are on top of the domed lids. The sugary crackled blue-green tinged glaze stops short of the unglazed foot and extends up to the top rim...
From our Southeast Asia Collection, a large and well-carved image of the Burmese monk Mogallana, 19th century. The carving is rendered in gilding and black lacquer over carved hardwood, with shell inserts for the eyes, typical for the better quality Mandalay era pieces. Overall, the piece is very nicely executed with good expressiveness and presence, making it very suitable for part of a shrine ensemble, or simply for display as a centerpiece on its own...
Rectangular shaped belt buckle beautifully carved in relief to represent a dragon "chasing the pearl". Two loops (one missing) at the back for attachment to the belt. Nicely patinated ivory. Length: 1 7/8" (4,7 cm). Erosion, a few chips, otherwise good condition.
