1920s Japanese ceramic tokkuri - sake bottle - with body pinched on 3 sides, one indent containing a low relief figure of standing Hotei (one of the 7 Gods of Good Luck and incarnation of Maitreya - the Buddha of the future). The piece was made at Bizen kilns, characteristic brown clay body, beautiful patina. Clever design, very pleasant to hold, in excellent condition. Height 7 1/8 inches.

19th century Chinese Peking glass bangle bracelet of classic shape made out of variegated light green glass resembling pale jadeite. Nice color, occasional bubbles inside the material typical for the period. Beautiful patina, overall in excellent condition. Inner diameter 61.2 mm (2.41 inches), outer diameter 3.05 inches. Antique and rare form Yerba Mate cup, in silver, Spanish Colonial style, 19th century or earlier, featuring doves, parrots, floral and foliate designs, and other birds, on round base with scrolling sculpted feet. The cup alone measures 8" high, with a base of7" diameter. The bombilla is 7 3/4" long. Unsigned and unmarked, which is usually the case. Entire cup and base are of hand wrought silver with embossed designs and attached figures of doves and parrots...

Traditional scroll painting of what I am assuming is the Chinese ideal of a courtesan putting her make up on in morning. This was painted in the year of the Fire Rat- 1936 or 1996. I would tend put this at the earlier date because the paper shows some age and this has been newly remounted, as well as the style is evoking feeling of a French boudoir. W: 33cm /13in x H: 72cm/28.5in- mounted W: 56cm/22in x H: 138cm/54.5in.

A rare and massive octagonal Islamic tile in Blue & White ceramic material, probably stone-past, imitating Ming Dynasty, Near East, c. 15th.cent. AD

A huge tile with fine style floral decoration in blue and white. Unfortunately missing a bit and put together from three large pieces. The tile is measuring 26,5 cm. x 26 cm. so each of the pieces is basically as large as most tiles are!

Unusual 19th century Chinese scholar’s brush rest / scholar’s rock giving a perfect impression of a craggy mountain range with overhanging peaks, and with the bottom carved as a seal with red seal paste in the recessed area. A pair of small “utility” knives made by Iban people of Sarawak, East Malaysia. These were frequently carried in the sheaths of their larger brothers, the Dayak mandau. The blades are hand forged, possibly scavenged steel from the leaf springs form an old car. Circa last half of the 20th century. Inro – A amusing and beautiful model of a black japanese urushi lacquer Inro, open by 4 cases and a lid, showing mice and a rat playing together on shells.  Brown, black, gold and silver lacquers of maki-e. H : 5,7 cm. Japan Edo (1603-1868) 18th century.

Kobako box decorated with stylized foliage in black and gold hiramaki-e lacquer. The motif is karakusa, a growing plant extending in all directions. It symbols prosperity and longevity. Interior is lined with a floral fabric and topped with a pewter border.

Netsuke - A mask carver, by Masayuki. The carver is holding his lasted creation, a chisel resting in his other hand. Evidently satisfied with his work, the carver twists his face into the same expression of that of this subject- a kyogen mask of the "liar" (usofuki) type, one eye closed and the lips pursed into a sideways whistle. Japan, Asakusa, Edo (1603-1868) 19th century.

Netsuke – A lovely model of boxwood group of chestnuts, one of which reveals the passage of a small worm, in carved bone. The natural chestnut color and wear to the wood provides a very naturalistic depiction. Wide himotoshi at the back. Beautiful natural patina. Nice finesse of sculpture. Netsuke - Nice model of the Shichifukujin Takarabune (The famous boat loaded with treasures of the 7 gods of happiness) in carved boxwood. Nice carving details of the whole composition. The 7 deities are all identifiable, the boat itself is ornate, the waves and a small Minogame turtle sculpted on the base. The cartridge signature has disappeared over time. Very nice natural patina.
