These tall, slender offering jars with lids are well-potted and molded with dignitaries, dragons and horses, and covered with a thin bluish-toned clear glaze. The bluish areas are apparent where the glaze has pooled around the molded figures. The lids are likewise glazed and finished with a simple stylized swirl of clay. 16th Century Chinese Gilt Lacquer Bronze Buddha on Lotus Seat
It is 13 inches (33 cm) tall by 8 inches (20.3 cm) wide. It weights 6.5 lb.
It has peeling of lacquer, loss of gold, chip at one finger, manufacturer defect of firing holes and cracks, chip at the tip of her tassel, the lotus and base's edge, and one of the foot at the stand was repaired (as seen in the photos).
