Antique Hand Crafted Persian Silver Hookha top, 19th C. The origins of the hookah come from the north western provinces of India along the border of Pakistan in Rajasthan and Gujarat nearly a millennia back. In Persia, before the age of cigar and cigarette, hookha was used for generations and generally they were made from clay. The aristocrats and wealthy had the upper section of their hookha made from silver and the base was porcelain or crystal...

Sold. Very Desirable Sterling Silver Letter Opener made by the Watson Company of nearby Attleboro Massachusetts with c 1910 hallmarks. Just think, at this time only about 1/3 of college students were women and only approx 5% were physicians! What New England college bound young lady of that era received this as a gift? Weighs 1/2 ounce on a postal scale. 5 1/2" X 7/16" wide. Very nice condition for age.

Coin silver table spoon by Frederick Marquand in the fiddle and thread pattern. Circa 1820s. Frederick Marquand worked in Savannah, Georgia and in New York City. From 1820-1826 he worked in Savannah and then relocated to NYC . It is likely that this spoon was manufactured during his time in Savannah. Size: 8 3/4 inches length. 2.85 troy ounces. Engraved on handle with script initial 'F.' Excellent condition with no dings or wear to the bowl. Hallmarks are crisp and legible.

An Art Nouveau sterling handle cake knife from the 1895 era. This 9-3/8" long server has a sterling silver handle and a silver plated blade; it is stamped STERLING on the handle but we've been unable to identify the pattern or maker. A great wedding gift, this knife is in excellent condition with no monograms, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than a few very small dents on one side's plain reserve only and a bit of patina from use on the blade...

A set for 12 mother of pearl handle silver plated fish knives and forks from the 1897-1900 era. This 24 piece set consists of the 7-7/8" fish knives and the 6-3/4" forks. Each piece has a mother of pearl handle with excellent lustre and green and pink flash. The ferrules are unmarked and nicely embossed (they may be silver - we haven't tested them and it wasn't required to mark small, light items)...

Table form Cigar Lighter in Sterling silver. Lighter is shaped like an ornate Aladdin's lamp. The lighter is missing it's wick holder, and has a few minor dings. The piece is hallmarked Edinburgh and has the word STERLING and the number 80. The piece measures 4 inches (10.16 cm) long, 3 inches (7.62 cm) tall and is 1 7/8 inches (4.6 cm) wide. Circa 1923.

A Japanese sterling silver inlaid metal cigarette case from the 1940s. This well-made and decorative 4-1/4 x 3-1/4" smoking accessory has black patination and inlaid copper both outside and inside the front cover. It also has black patination and hand incising and tooling on both sides and surfaces. The view is a copper bridge over a stream with mountains and trees in the background...

This is a VICTORIAN ERA FIGURAL NAPKIN RING depicting a DOG PULLING A CART. Dating ca. 1875 - 1900 the DOG is Pulling the Cart with a Decorated NAPKIN RING atop. Overall size is 2 3/4" X 3 3/4". Beautifully detailed the condition is Very Good to Excellent with no breaks and little wear to the Silver Plate. The WHEELS DO MOVE. Unmarked. UNUSUALLY NICE

A sterling silver sovereign holder - the interior in gilt and with compartments for both sovereigns and half sovereigns. The outside with engraved ivy leaf pattern and with hallmarks for the Chester assay - 1908. Condition - very good. Slight indentation to the ivy leaf side - no damages and no losses...

A sterling silver nutmeg grater circa 1890s. It may actually be older. This American antique 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" egg shaped sterling grater has the original interior gilt rasp and interior gilding. Nutmeg was an expensive imported spice when first introduced to Europe and to North America, and it became enormously popular as a condiment...

By the London silversmith, John Keith, this ornate cream jug was made in 1853. The hallmarks are all clear, and include the silver standard, Queen Victoria, the date mark and mark of Keith. It measures 5 1/4" high and is 4 1/4" wide from tip of lip to handle. Lovely rococo repousse designs, with the base standing on four feet in the shape of hooves. There is a small bird engraved on the front, not clear in photos, and also worn. Condition is good, with some tarnish visible, and slight dents...

Hand carved rosewood and sterling silver salad or serving set designed and signed circa 1950's by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling. Each piece is intricately carved and wrapped in sterling silver wire and measures 12 1/2" long. Beautiful condition with no chips or cracks. Each signed on the reverse WS. 19th century sterling creamer and sugar by Dominick and Haff, established in 1872,and considered one of the finer American silver companies. The creamer measures just a tad under 6" wide to the ends of the handles, and it is 2 1/4" high to top of handle. Both have a heavy border or scrolled designs, and ornate handles. The interiors retain some of the original gilding. Signed on the bottom with the their hallmark, sterling, and the number 438...

Dimensions; sugar, 9.5" high x 10" handle to handle, weight 26 standard, 23.7 Troy ounces; creamer 7.75" high, 7.5" handle to spout, weight, 17.5standard, 15.9 Troy ounces. Total weight, 43.5 standard, 39.6 Troy ounces. Several minor knocks; in very fine condition overall. Signs of a possible monogram or armorial, but well rubbed.
